Our Montgomery Aztec JV team ended the season with 15 wins and went undefeated in League Play finishing the season on an 11 game win streak. The streak included a 6-4 win over top ranked Bonita Vista, a route of Monte Vista and 3 sweeps of Hilltop, Mater Dei, and Olympian 🧹

It’s been an honor and a joy to coach this team. The talent on this team was evident from the start of the school year. These boys bought into an aggressive and mentally tough style of play. They play hard for 7 full innings. I couldn’t be more proud 🫡

With this group performing the way they have and the Varsity winning league, the future is bright at my Alma Mater - Montgomery High School 💪

Thank you to Coach Toto @mehermosillo for signing off on me coming on board and to my guy Coach Pablo for talking me into it. What a great season we had together 🔥 @salce.p by @sandiegosamson

A big fire in Mira Mesa forced the championship game to get canceled so we’ll share the ship with USA Prime Blue. We were the #1 seed and outscored opponents 27-4 in 3 games so we got to take the trophy home with us. Shout out to my 15u/16u boys for handling business this weekend. Great weekend of ⚾️ by @sandiegosamson

Memorial Day hits different since my Tata left us. When I’m at an event and they ask all veterans in the crowd to please stand, I stand. Not for me, for Tata. And for all vets that can no longer stand for themselves. by @sandiegosamson

In June, I’ll be back in Blue. I will be taking on current 7u and 13u teams as well as getting reps for my High School players who are all over the city. Tap in with me!

High School Groups: 16u and 18u, Roster spots very limited
13u: Prepare for the next level of ⚾️ be ready for Middle School and High School tryouts and show your coaches you know the game. We’ll develop, get solid reps and COMPETE HARD.
7u: IF your kid really wants to play travel ball at this age, here’s my advice - promote fun while also learning the basic fundamentals of the game. I have targeted benchmarks for each age group. My goal at this age is to develop a love for the game, keep the kids wanting to play again and again, and to have FUN!

Now, I love to win, we all do. BUT if you as a parent want to chase rings, I’m not for you. My #1 focus is development. We will play the game hard, mentally tough, and without fear. The winning will come.

Let’s get to it…. by @sandiegosamson
