Our @gc_exeter students enjoyed an inspiring and thought provoking day @shillorganics today. Farmer Martyn has a wealth of expertise and experience not only of the ecology and business model of his farm but also real insight into the #foodsystem based on years of advocating for people and nature in food and farming. Students really enjoyed a hands on approach to learning the opportunities and challenges of #sustainable #agroecolocical #farming. This will all help to shape their #futurefood challenge ideas. Plus they chose to try some @redearth_ferments made with farm produce which they really enjoyed 😋 @exetergeography @uniofexeter by @sandirebecca

Our last activity day on the Avignon-Marseille field course was an inspirational visit to #SemaillesAssociation an educational community farm near Avignon that provides training opportunities for unemployed and migrant workers, sells 350 veg baskets a week and provides 40 tonnes of veg to #foodaid and creates numerous food education opportunities in communities in Avignon. We heard testimonies from migrant trainee workers, had a tour of the farm, did sustainable farming activities and had a delicious local food lunch. We explored many module themes and had experiential food and community food experiences. It highlights the power of multi level governance collaborations to address #foodjustice #foodaid challenges #exetergeography by @sandirebecca

Such a fantastic 1st @exequayside_farmersmarket We had 21 traders and 100s of customers enjoying incredible #devon and #exeter fresh, sustainable local produce. Some stalls sold out and we had a lovely #community vibe. Well done to everyone @foodexetercharity team for running this. Thanks to @exetercouncil for the funding and for the Deputy Lord Mayor opening the market officially today. It was great to have her support as well. Looking forward to the next one 19th July. See you there! #sustainablefood #sustainable #communities #foodculture by @sandirebecca
