I am so grateful we have a photographer in our family that captures our every day moments so beautifully 🥹

This week we went to visit Sam again and it was so healing & beautiful 🥰

He’s growing so much every single day, and he loves his new home. He has a big brother to learn from, and even another beautiful doggy to play with.

He has the most loving, safe home we could ever wish for him with our dear friend @isabelledeak_hetherenhuisgenk 🩷

We are so grateful that we can visit him, and be a part of his life in this way. We all feel that this is how our story was meant to go, and everything is exactly as it should be.

Sam is so loved, and he will always be in our hearts wherever we go.

We love you beautiful boy 🐾

Sometimes life isn’t fair, and you have to make certain choices to do the right thing. Even if it breaks your heart.

Our sweet boy Sam has truly been the best pup from day 1. He came to us at only 7 weeks old.

He never had any accidents in the house, took himself to the garden every single time, kissing, playing and sleeping like a baby. He also learned new “tricks” every single day and it was incredible to see how fast he remembered them all.

He grew so much every single day, it was like weeks were just minutes.

After a beautiful summer together, many different circumstances came together that forced us to look at finding a new home for our Sam.

It was definitely not a choice we made lightly, and our hearts broke even thinking about it. But the more we spoke about it, it was like everything started to open up like magic.

Right away we thought of our dear friend @isabelledeak_hetherenhuisgenk who we have known for many years. Exactly one year ago she lost her sweet pup at the same age as Sam, and it almost felt meant to be. She felt connected to him the moment we got him and it was an instant yes.

When they met, he was so happy to meet her and her son. It was like a reunion and we knew this was the right thing to do.

A few weeks have gone by, and Sam is so happy in his new home. He has a big beautiful garden to run in, a big brother named Max and so much love around him.

This experience has been deeply sad, and at the same time heartwarming and beautiful. We are so lucky to be in close contact with his new family, that we can visit any time for cuddles, walks and seeing him grow up to be the best boy that he is.

We were forced to feel that, there are no right and wrong choices in life. Only choices. And after feeling everything around this experience, we choose to focus on the love we felt throughout all of this.

Love for Sam, love for Isabelle and love for ourselves. Nothing but love, and he’ll be in our hearts forever.

Our sweet, beautiful boy turned 8️⃣ years old yesterday. He said it was the best birthday yet - so we did good!! 🥰

Every day I am grateful that he’s happy, healthy & growing, but on days like this my heart is just overflowing with love & gratitude.

Being a parent has so many different layers.

You see your little ones grow up before your eyes, every single day. Time slips away and everything continuously changes.

And you are invited to change with them. To look at the deepest parts inside of yourself, to receive the mirror they put in front of you, to heal your own little self a long the way.
