Somewhere between art, fashion, and identity, I found something beautiful.

During my visit to @galerie_zato_interluxe in Benin Republic, I came across the works of Augustin Kouevi Adjogou, popularly known as @saphir_draw7, and I was instantly drawn in.

What fascinated me most was how his art explores African fashion, cultural identity, and the similarities that connect us across different communities. It reminded me that although our expressions of culture may differ, there is often so much that we share in the way we dress, the symbols we carry, and the stories passed down through generations.

And isn’t that one of the beautiful things about art? It helps us see connections we might otherwise overlook. ❤️🌍

I could have spent more time taking it all in.

If you’re in Benin Republic or planning a visit, here’s a little heads-up: Galerie Zato will be closing at the end of October and reopening in December, with more beautiful artworks and dresses to discover.

Consider this your reminder to make room for art, culture, and the stories that connect us.

Have you ever seen a piece of art that made you look at your culture differently? Tell me in the comments. 👇🏾

This is what happens when you hand the room the mic and tell them to speak freely.
From heated debates over pop culture takes to sudden bursts of room-wide laughter, the Friends Edition proved one thing: the best conversations in Lagos aren’t happening on stage—they’re happening at the tables.
No script, no filter, just sharp minds, cold drinks, and arguments that had the whole room choosing sides.
Tell us in the comments: What’s one pop culture hill you are fully prepared to die on?

More Than an Event

Sometimes you attend an event expecting to listen, network and leave.

Then you notice the little things.

I attended Wetech 2026: The PowerShift, and one thing I appreciated was how intentional the entire experience felt.

From the conversations around growth, impact and leadership in tech during the Wetech Community Spotlight, to the discussion on breaking into AI and emerging technologies, there was a lot to think about.

I also found myself paying attention to the experience beyond the stage.

The venue was beautifully designed and thoughtfully put together. The details felt intentional.

And the lunch? 😂

For a free event, the spread was impressive, jollof rice, plantain, chicken, dessert, Cadbury and Frutta. Definitely not what I expected! 😂

It reminded me that a good event isn’t only about the speakers on stage. It’s also about how people feel while they’re there.

Good conversations.
Good design.
Good food.
Good energy.

That was my Wetech 2026 experience. ✨

A little LABAF throwback. 🤎

In 2024, I had the opportunity to interview @ojyokpe during the Lagos Book & Art Festival (LABAF). It was her first time at the festival, and beyond being there, she also spent time mentoring some of the children who attended.

What stood out to me was how amazed she was that a festival bringing together books, art, culture, children and conversations had been happening for so many years.

And honestly, that is one of the things I love about LABAF, there is always a story, a conversation or a young mind being impacted.

Now, as we draw closer to LABAF 2026, I’m excited to be working with the team again and contributing to making this year’s festival a success.

This year’s theme is “The Work Over Starts Now.”

And yes, the work has started.

See you at LABAF 2026!

And a big thank you to @motherlandrtv for capturing this moment. 🤎

POV: You went to your first Lagos Comic Con and somehow ended up on RFI. 🇫🇷

I had the opportunity to speak with France 24/RFI about comics, storytelling and the creative space in Nigeria and across Africa.

And then yesterday, my voice was aired on Sur le pont des arts.

A little context for the video: I was interviewed in English, but because RFI’s audience is French-speaking, the interview is translated into French over my original voice. So you might not hear me throughout the entire clip. 😂

Still… watching that moment and knowing the conversation eventually made it to RFI was such a surreal feeling.

First Comic Con.
First panel.
First international media interview.

This experience really had layers. 😂❤️

And I’m glad I documented it.

Okay, but can we talk about the costumes?! 😂🔥

People really said, “If I’m coming to Comic Con, I’m COMING to Comic Con.” 😭

The creativity, attention to detail and confidence were honestly something to see.

I was walking around like: Wait… are these people real? 😂

My first Lagos Comic Con was definitely an experience.

And I’m still not done telling you about it.

Remember when I said the day had plans?

Well…

I wasn’t just at my first Lagos Comic Con. I was invited to speak on a panel!

The Power of Story: From Book to Comic to Screen

We talked about storytelling, adaptation, African stories and what happens when a story moves from one medium to another.

And honestly, I had such a great time sharing the stage with @word_balls1, @fadairo.olakunle, @tijaywebster and Victor. Different perspectives, one very interesting conversation. ❤️

For my first Comic Con experience, I really couldn’t have asked for a better way to be part of it.

And yes… there’s still more to this story. 👀

My first Lagos Comic Con!

I had never been to Comic Con before, so I honestly didn’t know what to expect.

This time, I wasn’t just attending as a first-timer. I was there representing CORA, and I was excited to finally experience what I had only seen online.

From the moment I got to Landmark, there was already so much happening, the costumes, the creativity, the people, the energy… and I was just taking it all in. 😂

I even got interviewed by the Comic Con team about what I expected from my first experience. At that point, I was still figuring out what the day had in store for me. 👀

And trust me, the day had plans. 😂

More from my Comic Con experience coming soon. ❤️
