Here is some footage that I took during Ron Athey’s Queer Communion. (1/3)

I was fortunate enough to have both Ron and Amelia Jones lead a tour during his retrospective along with his panel with Pony Lee, madision moore and Judy Cisneros.

Wow! I can’t believe it’s been five years since I made the pilgrimage to LA to see Ron’s Acephalous Monster for the first time at REDCAT.

I didn’t capture a single photo or video as I was completely immersed and captivated from start to finish. What an incredible performance that still ingrained in me ‘til this day.

It was such an unforgettable night and thanks to Ron, I made many wonderful friends and connections that I will always cherish. 👑❤️‍🔥🖤 taken in REDCAT - Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater by @sangredebravo

Greetings Mis Amores,

I know it’s been a while, but I hope y’all have been more than safe, sound and stable wherever you find yourself.

I wanted to express much gratitude to all who sent me birthday wishes, messages, texts, messages and love throughout the week. I sincerely love y’all and wish I could celebrate it with everyone near and far.

I’ve been going through a whirlwind of emotions (as I’m sure many of you are as well) during these recent months with depression kicking my ass in the background, but I’m trying to get back up and been planning amazing things in the background that I can’t wait to share at their due time.

If you’ve been trying to reach me, I will get back to you and would love to (re)connect with y’all & catch up. In the meantime, many thanks and remember to fight for what you believe in even if things look bleak. Keep going and eventually you’ll come to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Fight with love, compassion and demand a better world for all of use especially the voiceless, marginalized and unseen.

El mundo de la Lucha Libre ha perdido a uno de sus titanes. Mi tío Juan Carlos Bravo, conocido por los aficionados y en el ring como Galaxia 2000, ha fallecido.

Dedicó su vida al arte de la Lucha Libre, aportando pasión y un espíritu inquebrantable a cada combate. Su legado como guerrero y como miembro querido de nuestra familia jamás se extinguirá y extrañaremos su fuerza, sus historias y su gran corazón. Su luz seguirá brillando en nuestros recuerdos y te echaremos mucho de menos, querido tío.

Te quiero mucho y siempre estarás en nuestros corazones.

The world of Lucha Libre has lost one of its titans. My uncle Juan Carlos Bravo, known to fans and the ring as Galaxia 2000, has passed away.

He spent his life dedicated to the art of Lucha Libre, bringing passion and soaring spirit to every match. His legacy as a warrior and a beloved member of our family will never be extinguished and we will miss his strength, his stories, and his heart. His light will continue to shine bright in our memories and you will be deeply missed mi querido Tío.

I wanted to express gratitude to all who sent me birthday wishes, messages, texts, messages and love throughout the week. I sincerely love y’all and wish I could celebrate it with the friends and family near and far.

I’ve been going through a whirlwind of emotions as I’m sure many of you are going through these recent months of seems to be spirals of turmoil and slowly been climbing out of melancholia, but I’m planning and doing some amazing things in the background that I can’t wait to share at their due time.

If you have contacted me, I will get back to you throughout the days and I appreciate your patience.

In the meantime, many thanks and remember to fight for what you believe in even if things look bleak. Keep going and eventually you’ll come to see more pleasant days. Fight with love, compassion and demand a better world for all of use especially the voiceless, marginalized and unseen.
