The final hour here in the lap of Alps. This trip gave me everything I needed. Rest and a strong reset, after a near burnout.

Alps was strength and beauty amidst her ruggedness.. hiking up the #chartreuse mountains to #charmantsom was one of the toughest hikes I have done so far.. nearly 3 hours of hiking up in the forest, with nothing but trees, songbirds, the wind and the steep rocky edges. One of the scariest, yet most beautiful of it all 😌 .. the slopes filled with white flowers, the air heavy with their scents and honeybees buzzing by, while one wrong step could take you down.

And then I’d the first human contact, when one soul came by and we exchanged words of encouragement to each other and kept going, with the anticipation of a beautiful view at the top.. because the truth is despite the many moments of doubt, which made me want to go back, the promise of a beauty at the summit allured me.

Moments of trepidation with the roar of an airplane engine that echoed amidst the peaks, Alpine crows circling by, the rocky edges, the buzzing honeybees, a fallen baby bird, the wildlife.. but amidst it all was the beauty immeasurable.. light glimmering through the tree canopies and into the open expansiveness with the view of Mont Blanc far away… and then at the very last, there it was.. the PEACEFUL summit.

Alps helped me let go of many fears, which I realize is often a construct of my own mind. It took me 3 hours of hiking and 1867m of altitude and the mesmerizing beauty of Nature to discern that, along with the kindness of strangers.

That was a long rant, but this has been so powerful I’d to share it.

Thank you, Alps. Thank you, kind strangers. Merci Beaucoup. 🫶🏾⛰️

There are friends. There is family. Then there are friends like family — but then there is family of a friend, who treat you like their own.

This weekend was just that. Feeling a bit teary-eyed, on my way back to Barcelona now, as they showed me truly what a healthy family structure looks like! Sharing many laughter, conversations, great food and wine from the lunch table to the packed dinner for the airport that made me feel like what something my mom would do.

Playing fun games, dancing, singing karaoke to … reciting a poem in French. Friends who pick you up at airports and share their grandma’s special recipe with Dandelion leaves. Families who made sure their kids said “Au revoir” to me while leaving. It felt like home.

Here are some of my favourite moments in pics (without the faces behind them) that I want to capture and store in my mind forever. Joyeux anniversaire, friend. Merci beaucoup et à bientôt. ❤️
