Happy 1st of the month all! 🎉 The sun is shining and it felt like a good time to pop a little update on here about what's going on in my world. 2025 has been a super busy year already for me (in life and in business!). So many exciting things happening behind the scenes that I will share in time, including lots of website projects that I can't wait to reveal! ☺️ Social media can be a lot at times, and honestly, taking a step back has been great for creativity and focus. It's all in the little details 🎨 Ever noticed that little icon next to a website name in your browser tab? That's a favicon! It's a small, but super important detail that makes your website instantly recognisable, professional and on brand. 💅🏻 If you don't add one yourself, you can be left with the basic default one provided by the browser. Super unhelpful if a user browsing your site has a hundred tabs open! The best feedback from the amazing @wildones_playcafe 🦔🦊 I was thrilled to help them out with creating a website for their children's play café in Bournemouth! 📢 It's here! My website refresh is live🎉 Well, that took forever 🫣. After countless cups of coffee, late nights, and a LOT of second-guessing, I can finally say my website refresh is LIVE! Honestly, I feel like I could write a whole blog post on how not to tackle a website redesign. It’s SO different when you’re designing for yourself—suddenly, every option seems possible (especially when you know how to code and aren’t locked into a template)! Plus, imposter syndrome really decided to join the party this time around 🙃. I kept comparing my work to other incredible designers, which left me overanalysing every little detail and hesitating to hit “publish.” But here’s what I’ve learned along the way (and a little reminder for myself too): Comparison is the thief of joy. Instead of focusing on what others are doing, I’m leaning into my own strengths—and also celebrating how far I’ve come 🥳. Anyway, I’d love it if you could take a look 🖤. If you’re collecting any personal data — like emails for your newsletter, customer names, or analytics on your website — a Privacy Policy isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s a must-have. In the UK, data protection laws like GDPR mean even small businesses need to be transparent about how they collect and use customer data. It’s about building trust, showing you’re legit, and avoiding hefty fines! Did you know that the ICO can issue fines of up to £17.5 million or 4% of your annual worldwide turnover for breaches of data protection? If you don't know who/what the ICO are, I think would highly recommend Googling 'ICO small business checklist' to make sure you are compliant with all data protection in the UK 🇬🇧. Hello hello again, long time no post on this account! 👀 Time has been FLYING by this year and I've been kept super busy with freelance work. I've worked on building some amazing websites for clients in a range of industries from pilates and barre, to marketing agencies, coaches, hairdressing and more! I've also been slowly rebuilding my own website (which has been the BIGGEST challenge ever, I won't lie!!). It's never easy working on something that's so close to you, I almost wish I could hire someone else to do it for me but that kindddda defeats the purpose of being a web developer 😭😂.  I am however excited to announce that my new site will be going LIVE on 06/08 🖤. Sick of looking at the darn thing to be honest and I don't think I'll ever find it 'perfect', but the beauty of custom code is that it can be moulded, changed and adapted as time goes on!
