These past two weeks in Thailand were not what I expected. What I thought would be a trip of celebration quickly became some of the hardest conversations I’ve had as a founder. Tariffs doubled, boxes stuck in customs, and growth that didn’t always come profitably.
For the first time in 15 years, I had to tell our artisans we couldn’t place new orders. And yet… instead of frustration, they met me with grace. They reminded me that Sapahn carried them through Covid, and now it was their turn to say: “It’s okay. We’re in this together.”

Sapahn was never just about handbags. It’s about the bridge we’ve built, between artisans and customers, beauty and dignity, purpose and design.

Meet the Dawn Bowler Bag 🤍

When we invited our community to help name this new bag, nine people nominated Dawn Roth. That says so much about the place she holds in people’s lives. And anyone who knows Dawn or follows her at Dressing Dawn knows she has a real love for a good bowler bag. So when this beautiful new bowler bag kept being paired with her name, it felt like the universe stepped in.

We’re honored to introduce the Dawn, launching exclusively to our VIP list today and to the public tomorrow!

Her nominations began with a love of style and a shared love of Sapahn. One friend wrote that Dawn “has a gift for educating and advocating through personal style.” Another called her “a fashionable force to be reckoned with.” Again and again, people described how she uses her voice to stand up for what matters and how her openness as she faces cancer has helped others feel less alone.

One person put it simply: “I have lots of love for a lady I’ve never met.”

That’s the red thread in Dawn’s story: through her style, her advocacy, and her honesty, she brings people closer. We’re grateful to everyone who nominated her, and so happy to celebrate a woman whose strength and spirit have inspired a community including ours.
