Stop overcomplicating Jazz!

Learning the name of the scale doesn’t make you sound better.

Knowing how to use a simple humble scale such as major scale is what should be your superpower.

Learning Jazz can’t be extra frustrating if you start with the wrong tune. Yeah, we’re all guilty of wanting to learn a tune way above our level.

It’s not that it’s absolutely wrong move, but it just means that you have catch up with the missing information that you need to execute that tune well.

Chord vs. Voicing. Do you know the difference?

Chord is the Harmonic reality as a whole.
In plain english, the chord the cumulation of all the notes you played at once.

Voicing, though in other hand, is how you arrange the notes.

One chord can sound different just by the way you “voice” it.
