Meeting you at 14 and having absolutely no idea where life would take us or what it had in stores for us is wild to me. We were just two young kids, figuring it out as we went, never truly imagining almost 25 years later, we would still be choosing each other. From 14 to 38, we have grown, changed, faced so many challenges, but also made so many memories, and have experienced so many chapters together, and still are. Life doesn't come with a road map, but somehow we have made it through it together, side by side, on the same map. If only we could go back and tell those 14 year old kids where life would take them - I think they would be amazed and proud. Thank you for always choosing me. I am grateful. You are truly my person. And I will always continue to choose you until I can't no more. I love you. πŸ’œ photo credits: @alilaurencreativeservices clothing: @moodclothing___ and @shopfourgirlsboutique by @sara_without.a.h
If you know me, you know I am not the best at making muffins - besides banana muffins, that is all I got. 🀣 But guess who finally broke through the matrix and made some amazing sourdough saskatoon mufffins?! This mama right here!!!! πŸŽ‰ Here is the recipe I used ‡️ INGREDIENTS - 240g (2 cups) flour - 200g (1 cup) sugar - i used half, if not a little less - 2 tsp baking powder - 1/2 tsp baking soda - 1/2 tsp salt - zest of one lemon, optional, but 110% recommended - 225g (1 1/2 cups) saskatoon or blueberries - 113g (8 tbsp) butter, melted - 2 large eggs, room temp - 125g (1/2 cup) sourdough starter, discard - i used active - 3 tbsp lemon juice, optional, but 110% recommended - 45g (3 tbsp) buttermilk, sour cream or plain Greek yogurt, I used buttermilk - 1 tsp vanilla CRUMB TOPPING - 45g (3tbsp) butter, melted - 100g (1/2 cup) sugar of choice - 60g (1/2 cup) flour of choice - grated lemon rind INSTRUCTIONS β€’ Crumb Topping: combine all ingredients and combine with a fork until it becomes coarse crumble, set aside. β€’ Preheat oven to 350Β°F and generouslv grease a 12 count muffin tin with butter, a neutral oil or cooking spray - I used reusable muffin cups and brushed a little oil. β€’ In a large mixing bowl combine dry ingredients, flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, Iemon zest and salt and whisk to combine. Add the saskatoons or blueberries and stir gently, set aside. β€’ In a medium mixing bowl, combine the wet ingredients and whisk until smooth. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Careful not to over mix - this is where I usually fail. 🀣 β€’ Divide the batter evenly into 12 muffins (1/3 cup each) and sprinkle with the crumb topping. β€’ Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean. Let muffins cool for 10 minutes before removing to a cooling rack. They were AMAZING and I will 100% be making them agian! ‒‒‒》Recipe Credit to @everything.sourdough πŸ’œπŸ˜˜ by @sara_without.a.h
Canning simply brings me joy. Whether it is pickles, peaches, brussel sprouts, cranberry juice, grape juice, pasta sauce or in this case SALSA πŸ”₯ it brings me a lot of happiness in knowing what I am giving my family. But do not think it is "easy" - a lot of work goes into it and usually ends up being a full day thing. But i love it. πŸ’œ I have a few more things to can and then I will be done for the season. #canningseason by @sara_without.a.h

Why post this, it is just a cookie. You are correct it is, but it is a cookie I made from scratch and I am proud of it. So I am posting it because I can. πŸ˜‰ But truthfully, cookies have never been my thing. And until last year, I couldn't even make a basic chocolate chip cookie. 🀣 Thank you @inkedbeautyclinic (aka my beauty of a cousin) for the confidence boost and recipe. 😘 This cookie was macadamia nut from @bodyfuelorganics and 33% white baking chocolate from @filigreechocolaterie 🫢 Local Love ❀️ And they turned out so good. πŸ”₯ There is something about that combo that takes me back to my childhood and reminds me of my late grandma. πŸ’œ Do you have cookie combo you LOVE? Let me know. ‡️ 🫢 by @sara_without.a.h
Support local. Support small. πŸ’œ A little shoutout to @westofthirdranch - we are so lucky to have them close by for our meat products. And they deliver right to your door. We started ordering from Josh and Alana ( + kids) back in August 2023 and haven't looked back. 3 years and still our go-to for beef. They take so much pride in how they raise their cows, the products they produce and the quality of the products. The recipes they have created for sausages, beef jerky, beef sticks and the ranch rub have so much thought but also meaning behind them as well. And one of our favorites is how they pack the 1lb ground beef.....flat lay! Which means a quicker thaw time! Life changing. πŸ₯³ We love absolutely everything from them and if you are within the range of delivery in Saskatchewan, I highly recommend trying one of their meat boxes they have. They have an amazing selection of different types of boxes with different meat products within them depending on what you are looking for! We usually go for: β€’ ground beef box β€’ homequarter box β€’ homegrown box But really you can't go wrong with any of the boxes. They also always have little single items to purchase too. We love to stock up on stew meat and meat sticks, my kids love those! 10/10 recommend. 10/10 tasty products. 10/10 customer service. 10/10 supporting a family. 10/10 supporting local. 10/10 family approved. πŸ’œ by @sara_without.a.h
If your donut box doesn't look like this, did you even do it right? @theeverydaykitchen has NEW flavours and they are incredible, as to be expected. My favorite shocked me a little - BLUEBERRY FRENCH TOAST! It is so good! Tastes exactly like French toast, I could have ate a whole box of them, haha. πŸ˜‹ 10/10 on all the new flavours! πŸ‘Œ by @sara_without.a.h
