A day at the stables on analog.
I find so much beauty in horses, in their stillness, their presence, and all the little details in between. by @saraasaadx

This year, I went to Kyrgyzstan to learn more about nomadic life through Salbuurun, a tradition passed down through generations that brings together the hunter, horse, golden eagle, and Taigan hounds.

What stood out to me through Nursultan’s story was not the act of hunting itself, but the relationship where these animals are not just part of the practice, but companions, partners, and part of a living heritage. by @saraasaadx

Four months of visual documentation from within the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2026.

Between the artworks, spatial details, and shifting light, photography became a way to preserve the feeling of the space as we experienced it.

A selected collection of images from this journey.

“It all starts with firing up the drums. Samri is more than a dance: it’s the heartbeat of Najd – a centuries-old tradition where poetry and percussion blend into a shared rhythm. The men don’t just move to the beat, they become part of it, their steps echoing a history passed down through generations. I captured this moment on a recent trip to North Najd, where tradition remains deeply rooted, even as Saudi Arabia evolves. Watching the men dance and hearing the beat, I felt the pull of the rhythm—an unspoken invitation to join, an urge to put my camera down and step into the dance.”

Had an incredible trip exploring Qassim and Hail with @TamasheeExperience. Learning about the rich geographical and Islamic history and traditions of these sites made me appreciate being from Saudi even more 🇸🇦. These photos are just glimpses—I’ll be sharing more soon!

1. At the top of A’arif fort
2. @makazim joining the ardah dance
3. An ancient 2000+ year old rock art of what seems to be a man offering a gift to a god
4. Two camels tied with ropes to pull water from a well
5. @dinabaitassova enjoying Hail’s sunset view
6. Silly horse
7. Playing the Rababah
8. Haitamah volcanic crater—so breathtaking, it brought me to tears

Seeing the kids running and enjoying the water, not caring about getting wet or getting cold, is what freedom is to me. At that moment, I wanted to be a kid again, to only care about having fun, and to be free. taken in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia by @saraasaadx
