UPDATE: The Real Story Behind the Health Stuff

Hey everyone—I know I’ve shared over the years about my trips to the ER in Dallas between 2021–2023, and so many of you reached out to check on me. I wanted to give you all an honest update on what’s actually been going on behind the scenes, because getting real answers has been a complete game-changer. Now that it’s 2026, I’m finally just starting to learn about what has been going on with my body. It’s chronic, but I’m in the early stages and determined to reverse as much as possible!

It turns out the pain, severe swelling, and heavy, aching legs I’ve been dealing with weren’t just random. I’ve officially been diagnosed with Stage 2 Lipedema, Stage 1 Lymphedema, and underlying venous insufficiency (broken vein valves that cause blood to pool)—which is genetic from my dad and grandmother’s side of the family. This would have started in my tweens. Many women are never properly diagnosed. I had to keep fighting to find the answers. by @sarahannahansen

Today I pulled out the film gear. 📷
Sometimes you have to slow down, disconnect from digital noise, and go back to the absolute fundamentals of the craft.
Medium format film forces patience, light calculation, and extreme intentionality with every single frame—lessons that directly shape how I light, compose, and execute high-end studio campaigns today.
What’s a ritual or tool that keeps you grounded in your creative craft?
