One of my aunts sent me a video like this but in Spanish. I thought it was really encouraging, so I decided to remake it in English (: If it encouraged you today, send it to someone you care about! #jesus #christ #christianquotes by @sarahhcesarr

There’s nothing more satisfying in this world than winning souls for the Kingdom of God.

Last week, I had the incredible privilege of being part of OCC’s very first Inner City Mission Trip in the Pleasant Grove area—where 23 young souls accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! 🙌

Who/How/Where:
Seventeen missionaries stayed at a house near Mt. Sinai Baptist Church—the church we partnered with and where we hosted our sports and arts & crafts camp. We served children ages 6 to 17 who came not only to discover new skills, but also to encounter the love of Christ.

Throughout the week, many volunteers and guest speakers joined us, each bringing something special. Every single one of them made a powerful impact on the lives of the kids in this community. On the final day, we had a fun day for the kids and later that night hosted a banquet for them and their parents, where we served them a meal and celebrated the kids with awards for their efforts.

It was a challenging but deeply rewarding week. I praise God for sustaining us, uniting us as a team, keeping us safe, and giving us the strength to press on—even with very little sleep 😅

Thankful for everyone who contributed financially to this mission and to those who volunteered as well ♡

Also—today is my 30th birthday! 🎉
My heart is full. I’m so grateful for God’s mercy and humbled that He would use someone like me to bring light into a dark world.

To God be ALL the glory. 🙌✨

Why this little faded piece of paper means so much to me…

1. I finally passed my SIE exam! 🎉🎉
If you know me personally, you know I’ve been trying to pass this exam since 2021. I've taken it five times — & after failing it three times, I had to wait an entire year before I could try again. 😭
I hadn’t attempted it since the summer of 2022 bc of fear of falling. As a recipient of ESL, it’s been a discouraging journey (to say the least).

2. God has called me to this work. 🥲
I don’t know why God sometimes calls us to do hard things… but He does.
If you’ve been called to something and fail the first time (or second, third, or fourth), let me reassure you: that’s not a sign from God to quit.
Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.”
Sometimes it just means you have to study harder and grow in discipline. 🤕🫡
There is peace in walking in alignment with the Holy Spirit.
If you’re lacking discipline — ask Him for it! He’ll help you help yourself.
For me, that meant being blessed with an incredible study partner: @marthaohdz ♡

3. I’m passionate about helping people and pointing them to Christ.
I love that this business gives me the freedom to do that — while still being able to go on mission trips, serve at church, and spend quality time with my family.

4. Next up: Series 6 and Series 63 🫠
Once I pass those, I’ll be fully licensed to make suitable recommendations and serve in a fiduciary role — meaning I’ll be putting the needs of my clients before my own while analyzing their finances and recommending the right investments.

If that sounded boring 😅, it kind of is — but I’m so grateful to God for this process:
For the opportunity, for the growth, and for the way He’s shaping me as a woman, a leader, a servant, and a child of the Most High God. 🙏

It’s been hard… and I still have a long road ahead.

But what a comfort it is to know:

“...He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 1:6

Kenya has done it again. It has tugged on my heart just as much as it did last year in 2024. Every day was unique, intentional, and impactful. I experienced God’s presence every single day throughout the trip. From the warmth and deep connections with the other missionaries, to our awesome and super helpful translators, Dorcas and Crispoh, to all of our friends at Storms Resort & Campsite, to the overwhelming love of the children, to the awe in God’s creation, in everything, including nature, and through the beautiful people from Nanyuki, Muthirithia and surrounding communities, especially the Maasai Tribe.

It really blessed me to see my Maasai family again and their growth in Christ Jesus. It was evident that they are becoming more comfortable around us. Some of them even shared their testimonies! It was truly an honor to witness the incredible work God is doing in this community and in us, as well. I know this mission was life changing for myself and the other brothers and sisters who came along my side, offering their hard work, services, encouragement, and sacrifices for the Kingdom of God. Pastor Kurtran always does a phenomenal job in training and equipping us culturally, emotionally, & spiritually for the task at hand. And I couldn’t have asked for a more loving, Christ centered team overall.

In Nairobi, at their headquarter office, we got to meet Kurt Kandler, the founder of our partnering organization, 410 Bridge, and all of his team. Once we got to the community we were serving, we visited the boreholes (wells) that needed fixing, took some notes and we’re currently developing a strategy to see how to best approach the water challenge in Muthirithia, Kenya.

I am looking forward to witnessing what else God has planned for the beautiful people in Muthirithia. It is truly an honor and a privilege to be used as a vessel to expand the kingdom of God and serve those He has called us to serve. Thank you to everyone who kept us in their prayers and for all monetary contributions that went directly to this mission. To God be all the glory.

Acts 20:35 “...It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Here are 3 reasons why I love going on mission, featuring The Green Machine, worship, and sleepy missionaries 😴🛫🌍
1. One of the reasons I love going on mission is because I get to spend time with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Yes, we're there to work and pour into others spiritually, but I don't know if these beautiful souls know how much they pour into me and how much I learn from them. They inspire me to be more courageous and sharpen me to grow in my faith. I will forever be grateful by their sacrifice. What a privilege it is to go on mission with God fearing people whom you love.
2. Every morning, we would wake up early and have breakfast while we read and discuss the devotional for that day. That's something else I love doing. There's nothing like spending time with God alone, but there is power in community because it challenges you to think differently, analyze other people's views, and get to discover what God is saying through different lenses.
3. Getting to know everyone on a deeper level. There's a sense of vulnerability that happens when you go on mission. We all share and open up in a way a lot of times we don't get to in the States. We pray together. Sing together. Cry together. We experience our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ together and see first-hand His miracles and creation all around us.
It really is beautiful and an experience words cannot fathom & kind of hard to come up with something when people ask, "How was Kenya?!?!?!!" lol, but those are just 3 reasons why I love going on mission. Not necessarily my favorite reasons why, but something to start with (: I will try my best to keep on sharing the many other reasons but you're also welcome to send me a DM or comment if you have any questions ♡

Going to Kenya has completely transformed the way I see life. I want to thank God for providing me with this opportunity to serve others in a whole other continent. I want to thank everyone for their support. We were blessed with a great leader, awesome translators, and an amazing team with servant hearts.
I'm grateful for the way God has transformed the way I live my life. I'm grateful for the way He is using me to minister to others (even though I don't deserve it). I'm grateful that The Most High has opened my eyes to see and to live my life from a point of view that only brings Him glory.

Mostly, I'm grateful for the dark place He has delivered me from.
I was in a place where a lot of people looking in might have thought I had it all. Health, a good job, a lovely family, a great partner, and even though all those things were true; if you don't have a relationship with our creator, The Almighty, you haven't experienced TRUE love. A love I can not form into words. Something I have always looked for in all the wrong things in this world.
This kind of love can ONLY be found through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I encourage you today to put your pride aside and seek Him. Learn more about Him. Read the Bible. What is the worst thing that can happen? Church or people hurt? Let us not put our trust in man but instead trust the Lord (Psalm 118: 8). He loves us so much that He sent his only son to die for our sins (John 3:16). And if you don't feel worthy, I was right there with you, but we get life through the Spirit, and there is no condemnation (Romans 8:1-4).

I will leave you with this verse:
"May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word." 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17. Thank you.

With love,
Sarai Cesar. by @sarahhcesarr
