@textileartnyc Fiber Iterations is the Textile Art Gallery NYC’s new annual juried exhibition series, celebrating the breadth, creativity, and expressive possibilities of contemporary fiber art. Building on the gallery’s year-round commitment to presenting exceptional contemporary art in textile media, the exhibition brings together a compelling selection of artists and approaches from across the field.Juror Petra Fallaux described the submissions as “second to none,” recognizing the creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation represented throughout the exhibition. The selected works range from sculptural and conceptual approaches to pieces rooted in traditional techniques and re-imagined through contemporary practice. Together, they push the boundaries of fiber art while engaging with materiality, sustainability, identity, and storytelling through textile forms. by @sarahlaingart

Saturday Workshop RecapThe CAMP Gallery team was filled with joy by the presence of those who joined us last Saturday afternoon for a meditative experience dedicated to creating and processing with intention.Led by artist and art therapist Sarah Laing, alongside Marine Fonteyne and Mila Hajjar, Tender Repairs fostered discussions on the meaning of fragility and provided a space for practices rooted in tenderness and care. Through slow hand-sewing, the women’s sewing circle began with shared wisdom that led to a language of textile made to strengthen bonds for generations.🔔If you like what you see don’t worry! ✨ Cathartic Shadows ✨My work explores how emotion moves across states — from rapid watercolor gestures to machine and hand embroidery. I begin with spontaneous, cathartic marks, then stitch directly onto the watercolor paper, working on both sides. The pieces are scanned and re-embroidered, transforming the original gestures into layered, tactile afterimages.Drawing, stitching, and digital translation become a balance between release and reflection, urgency and patience. The “shadow” refers to what is unseen, repressed, or lingering — both psychologically and materially.As an art therapist and textile artist, I use this process to witness, contain, and reframe emotion. Opening March 14th 5pm @thecenterhollywood with @fiberartistsmiamiassociation River of Grass - an immersive fiber exhibition that transforms the Main Gallery of the Hollywood Art and CultureCenter into a living landscape of fiber and imagination. Floor to ceiling, towering vertical looms will form a maze of passageways and threshold-like openings, inviting visitors to wander through an environment where art blurs withexperience.
