Is it just me, or does life feel like it’s stuck on fast-forward lately? As time rushes ahead, I find myself wondering…has it always been this way?

So I’m slowing down, moving with intention.
Looking for what I like to call “the magic in the mundane.”

Sometimes, the answers we’re searching for are right in front of us…in the soft light reflecting through a window, a flower that seems to find you, or the simple, ordinary things we often overlook. There’s beauty tucked into corners everywhere, you just have to slow down enough to see it.

These are my moments lately…the magic of spring! 💫

1. An auction find that serendipitously landed in just the right spot.
2. Homemade granola, made early on Friday mornings to enjoy over the weekend (and share with friends).
3. Morning light caught in the perfect angle.
4. The terracotta pot jackpot.
5. A nub of French butter and flaky sea salt turning radishes (affectionally known as ‘dirt apples’ by my husband) into the perfect bite.
6. An antique nautical art that speaks to me—even if it didn’t come home with me.
7. A briny bite of oysters, still delicious—even in a non-‘ber’ month.
8. Slow mornings and linen pants.
9. A restock of a favorite scent that smells like a post-beach shower on a sunny summer day.
10. A three-legged stool that finally found its place.
11. More pots = more plants. No regrets when you get to play in the dirt.
12. Grocery store tulips that brighten the workday just by being there.
13. Dirt-covered boots after the start of a landscaping project.
14. Climbing roses sweet enough to catch even the nose of a curious poodle.
15. A little reminder from a new favorite book. by @sarahlongroper

How lucky are we! 💫 Grateful for this place and the time spent together on this much-needed week away in Charleston. by @sarahlongroper

Winston turns 12 today. How lucky are we? 💫 by @sarahlongroper

A total basket case.

There are one too many imperfections to count, but somehow that just makes me love it more. I still can’t believe I made this! by @sarahlongroper

Happiest during the month of July 🌻 by @sarahlongroper

The month of June was all showers (literally), but that’s usually how blooming begins. by @sarahlongroper

Stepped outside right before the next round of afternoon storms rolled in….and can you believe what I found when I looked down? Feeling lucky 🍀 by @sarahlongroper

The Long girls recently snuck away for a few nights in the North Carolina mountains. The hills of Cataloochee Ranch welcomed us with open arms and proved so hard to leave. More than once, we remarked how much it reminded us of our beloved summer camp days.

There was no shortage of beauty surrounding us or experiences to savor… trail rides and mountain hikes, pottery and sunrise watercolor classes that reminded us to find joy in imperfection, and more delicious fare than we could ever choose from.

But most of all, the beauty was in simply being together in such a beautiful place. Until next time. 🌾 by @sarahlongroper

Signs of spring. Days longer, sunlight brighter, everything a little greener. 🌿 by @sarahlongroper

A few golden days in Charleston with Winston 💫 Sharing a few of our favorite rituals in the Holy City:
1. Morning walks downtown (even better if the route takes you to breakfast at Baba’s for coffee and banana bread).
2. A late lunch or early dinner on a patio. Honorable mention to Chez Nous, Leon’s, Melfi’s, and Post House Inn for always accommodating.
3. Wandering around Elizabeth Stuart and sniffing out the plants.
4. Ending the day with a beer or glass of wine at Edmund’s Oast or Graft. by @sarahlongroper
