Another piece very close to my heart
The first ayah of Surah Kahf

All praise is for Allah Who has revealed the Book to His servant,1 allowing no crookedness in it (18:1)

Final reveal ☺️
16x20”

This piece was definitely a little out of my comfort zone when it came to the painting but is so dear to my heart.

It draws a parallel between the trees we see in nature and a believer’s conection with their creator.

When we study a creation in nature, we don’t just stop at defining its qualities, but rather we aim to go deeper and connect it to its source, without which it would never have existed in the first place. In this case, the qualities of a leaf lead us to understand more about the tree that it came from.

Similarly, the more we learn about ourselves and our qualities as humans, the more we learn about how we manifest - in our own ways - the beautiful qualities of our Lord. We can then strengthen in ourselves the good qualities while shedding the bad or unhealthy ones and work towards truly fulfilling our potential of being a “khalifatullah”.

"When your Lord said to the angels: ‘I am appointing on the earth a deputy', they said: ‘Will you place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood, -while we celebrate Your Praise and extol Your Holiness?' He said: surely I know what you know not'."

New painting. This is one of my favourite hadith and I’ve been wanting to paint it for so long now!
“He who knows himself knows his Lord” a reminder of the potential of a human being, the power in self discovery and the ever existing connection to the All-Mighty Himself.

Keep an eye out for the full piece!

Ya Mahdi…

Reminiscing about @babalridha_brisc where we made these paintings together 💚
Revamped the paint a little
It’s a reminder of the sun behind the clouds, the flower that will bloom with its full strength even amidst the harshest of conditions

There is a common misconception about beauty when it comes to religion. When we think of religiosity or a pious person, many times we think of a someone, wearing ragged clothes, living in an isolated part of the world with no money. However, that is merely a misconception.

On the contrary, Islam urges us to beautify ourselves (for Allah), to embody his essence of Beauty and to use our blessings as vessels to bring us closer to Him.

“O Children of Adam! Beautify yourselves for every act of worship, and eat and drink [freely], but do not waste: verily, He does not love the wasteful”
-The Holy Quran 7:31

As this new year has begun, I wanted to start off by wishing each and every one of you a very happy New Year filled with health, happiness and an abundance of blessings! Despite this last year being a very tough time for many, I hope we never forget to find joy in the “little things”.

Sending you all love, prayers and positivity (& hopefully a little bit of inspiration ☺️)
