Endo works! #3 necrotic pulp/symptomatic apical periodontitis treated w/ EdgeEndo X7, BC Sealer, and Gentlewave 🌊. Patient presented for recall 6 mo later- asymptomatic with CBCT showing complete resolution of the sinus floor and almost complete elimination of the previously large PARL! ✨ by @sarahnash.endo

#5 “mini-molar” ReTx 🦑. Maxillary 1st premolars w/ 3 canals are rare (1.66% incidence according to Kartal).

GD recently did RCT and was suspicious of a missed canal after seeing the post op. I explained to the patient that their GD filled the number of canals that’s typical for this tooth and that he has rare anatomy that CBCT helps identify; I also mentioned that #6 likely will need RCT in the future (tested reversible- GD will do caries control first) by @sarahnash.endo

#30 Selective ReTx (M root only) w/ Gentlewave 🌊
Previous Endo appeared adequate and I couldn’t see a missed middle mesial canal on the CBCT. CBCT is very helpful in endodontics by giving us a roadmap of the anatomy, but there are limitations in the detail it captures.
Independent middle mesial canals are the most rare configuration of the elusive middle mesial canal (Pomeranz- 2% incidence of independent MM canals in mandibular first molars, Azim- MM present in up to 46% of mandibular 1st molars, but only 9.5% are independent)

Out here trying to make #middlemesialmonday a thing 😎
#30 PN/SAP-> #30 RCT w/ Biolase (single visit tx)

Middle mesial canal incidence is 12% according to Pomeranz, but the rate varies amongst the endodontic literature. They are more common in mandibular 1st molars and younger patients, and having CBCT imaging is incredibly helpful to know when they’re present.
