Growing up in Chicago, Ms. Felicia lived many place around the US, before returning and finding she'd been priced out of her old neighborhood. That's when she was connected to Sarah's Circle Interim Housing Program in 2024, and later moved into her own Permanent Supportive Housing unit. Thorugh various physical health challenges, PSH has given Ms. Felicia a place to thrive and build community. "I'm really blessed. And I'm grateful. And I just want to give back what I've been given.”

"Sarah Circle has empowered me. We have women empowerment groups. I feel more confident. My physical and mental challenges, they don't seem so out of reach anymore. I feel good. Sarah Circle has done that.”

We love to see Ms. Felicia's dazzeling smile greet us each day! by @sarahscirclechi

Research show that 90–95% of people in supportive housing remain stably housed long-term. Why? Because supportive housing provides:

- Stable housing first
- Person-centered services
- Long-term support for stability

At Sarah's Circle, we see every day the benefits supportive housing provides to the women we serve and our Uptown community.

During Supportive Housing Week (Aug 24–28), communities across the country will engage members of Congress while they’re back in their home districts, bringing them face-to-face with the impact of supportive housing. Join us by contacting your elected officials and telling them to support policies that expand supportive housing efforts. It’s a solution that works for people AND communities.

Please welcome Asella (she/her), our new Communications Associate on the Development team!

Before moving to Chicago and joining the team at Sarah's Circle, Asella was the Marketing & Communications Manager for Beth Am Synagogue in Baltimore, MD. She also served as the BAYITT Coordinator, planning activities, Shabbat dinners, and social gatherings for Jewish young adults.

Asella is dedicated to working for non-profits committed to building stronger, supportive communities. "I'm thrilled to join an organization that's become a cornerstone to the Uptown neighborhood. Sarah's Circle does life changing, world repairing work, and I'm honored to play a small part in that process!".

Beyond work, she loves cats, reading gothic fantasy novels, craft projects, spending time in nature, going to baseball games (Let's Go O's!), and hosting Shabbat dinner. She enjoys volunteering with Repair the World Chicago and serves on the JUF Young Leadership Division's Volunteer Committee. by @sarahscirclechi

It was wonderful stopping by Sarah’s Circle’s annual block party last weekend! Neighbors came together for an afternoon of food, music, activities, and good old-fashioned block party fun. Lakeside was truly filled with love, laughter, and community.

A special early congratulations to Kathy Ragnar on her retirement from Sarah’s Circle! We’re incredibly grateful for Kathy’s years of dedicated service and her commitment to providing housing and supportive services to women during some of their most vulnerable times of need. Her work has made a lasting impact on so many women and on our broader community.

Thank you to Kathy and the entire Sarah’s Circle team for all that you do and for another wonderful celebration! 💜 by @sarahscirclechi

We are incredibly thankful to the IL CU Women's Leadership Group (or Galena Girls, as they are fondly referred to), for selecting Sarah's Circle as their 2026 conference charity recipient!

The IL CU Women's Leadership Group was formed in 2007 to provide an educational and networking opportunity designed exclusively for women executives and decisionmakers in the credit union industry. Every year, they select a new charity to highlight and we're incredibly grateful to have been selected.

The Galena Girls is made up of 44 credit union executives and partner vendors, who came together and personally donated $25,000 to support our mission of ending homelessness for women in Chicago. Thank you to Kim Nichols, AVP Member Experience with @numarkcu for personally delivering the donation last week! by @sarahscirclechi
