Reflections; 2025 was a turbulent one. Only some know, I have been in recovery from a right arm injury since April. For months I was not able to use my dominant arm completely and was limited to my left one. They don’t talk about the psychological impact that an injury has on a person. There’s feelings of frustration and being a perpetual burden. Not capable of living a normal life. Going from working full time and going to school for massage full time, then nothing…full time. It’s a little jarring and scattering. We intertwine our self worth, to our jobs, to our productivity, to what we can do for everyone else. I was forced into slowing down, learning more patience for myself when I’m spilling milk across the counter because I’m not left handed. Sometimes you have to laugh through the crying. I tend to isolate when life feels like it’s slipping from me. You might know the feeling. I’m sorry for canceling plans and not getting back to you, it’s harder than it seems. I still think of you. Finding a way back to myself by spending most days walking around my neighborhood with my camera and jazz on repeat.

Im thankful for my friends, who check in and don’t take it personally when I’m nothing short of elusive. The friends and new family I’ve made along the way. My sister holding me when I fall apart. My family back home in CA. My cats.
This year I hope you find a way back to yourself and back to the tiny corners of yourself that you forgot were there.
