POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Masterclass with Serena Gamberoni: Allons! Il le faut…Adieu notre petite table (Manon, Massenet)

It was a pleasure to work on this beautiful aria with such an experienced and knowledgable singer. Thank you Serena for your generosity and insight @serena_gamberoni (I’ll be sure to bring some Italian next time!) And thank you @bohdanaravliuk for the most moving and sensitive playing, as always <3 by @sarahthomasoprano

What a blessing my time at @grasmeresong was. Amongst other “pinch me” moments was this queen of all “pinch me” moments. Performing with gorgeous @yihan.zf in Dame Janet Baker’s birthday concert was nothing short of a dream. Dame Janet was my first introduction to classical music, and indeed to my favourite composer, Handel. Speaking to her was totally surreal and enchanting, I feel so full of happiness and love after this week. A huge heartfelt thank you to @grasmeresong !

The website gods have unfortunately not been smiling down on me- SO I have gone old school with a little flyer detailing some of the fun things I’m getting up to soon. Links below☀️

There is also a new addition to my bio- a linktree whilst my website hibernates 🐻 Amongst other joys, it contains YouTube video links- some not as of yet posted to the instagram (sneak preview for you).

A gorgeous throwback to premiering Ruvin Meda’s The Nightingale and the Rose with @teteateteopera @rcmlondon @ruvinmeda back in July☀️

How lucky am I to be alongside @yeinievein and @aneskadiament once again preparing for our upcoming performances of Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges in November 🦇🔥🐈‍⬛

A few more of my favourite moments from @grasmeresong 2026 !!

Alongside the incredible professionals listed below I was lucky enough to work with Dame Josephine Barstow, Audrey Hyland, as well as teachers Mary Nelson, Jane Irwin and pianists Daniel Silcock and Yihan Zhao. Not to mention the presence of Dame Janet Baker, who spoke to us of her early career, dreams and advice. I feel truly inspired by all of these people and like my creativity has been let loose!

Repertoire includes:

Allons…Adieu notre petite table- Massenet, coached by Richard Hetherington

In the silence of the secret night op. 4 no.3 Rachmaninoff, coached by Lada Valešová

Porgi amor- Mozart, coached by Brenda Hurley

Piangerò la sorte mia- Handel, coached by Dame Ann Murray

Another huge thank you to the Grasmere team @hyland.audrey @stevephillipsmanagement @coolyurjetsjackie ! by @sarahthomasoprano

An excerpt of Lia’s aria from Debussy’s beautiful scène lyrique, L’enfant prodigue. With wonderful @jrampiano 🎹 ⭐

It’s been a real joy exploring warmer lyric repertoire this year and I can’t wait to continue looking at the arias of Countess Almaviva, Magda, and Manon at Grasmere Song this August. by @sarahthomasoprano

!!I am so pleased to have performed my first recital at the Royal College of Music!!

Handel is undoubtedly my favourite composer, so it’s only right to begin the repertoire posting process with a recording of his incredibly beautiful With darkness deep, as is my woe, from Theodora. I began my recital with this aria and am forever astounded by its heartbreaking simplicity.

I was so lucky to perform with @gamalpiano a fantastic pianist and artist, and a wonderful person! by @sarahthomasoprano

🎤A few snippets from projects with the @nationaloperastudio and some recent recordings🎤

I absolutely loved getting to know a little of Donna Anna during the NOS scenes. Strauss has also been a happy companion of mine over the last few months as I prep for my song exam, but more recital dates soon! You’ll also see some very cute faces from snaps of the @rcmlondon contemporary opera rehearsals, very busy and exciting few months to come! by @sarahthomasoprano

!!Scenes from the Academy!!

I had so much fun performing excerpts of Fiordiligi, Alcina, and Donna Anna as part of the @nationaloperastudio Academy last week. Who knew scarf-swinging and wine-spilling were so beneficial to singing😋

It was such a dream to work with @emmadohertydirects (I am your biggest fan) and the incredible reps at the studio @henryreavey @adrian.salinero. As well as all my super talented colleagues!!

I am so excited to return to NOS soon for two studio Saturday events🤓

A Grand Night indeed!

Had such a fab time singing some Rodgers and Hammerstein classics as part of the @rcmlondon Chamber Music Festival. Thank you to all my fab colleagues and @waynemarshallmusician and Paul McKenzie and Saffron Von Zwanenberg, it was so much fun!
On a personal note, this music was extremely formative for me as a child. My mum, sister and I would sit around the piano singing this beautiful, clever music, so having sung it once again as an adult pursuing a masters degree at such a great school, feels surreal and so exciting- never forget your roots! by @sarahthomasoprano
