If you knew her, you immediately loved her. To say that my heart is heavy is an understatement.

Mimi was the absolute light in everyone’s lives, truly one of a kind. She was the kind of Mimi that knew everything and had a new story for every day. I feel like a lucky granddaughter getting to spend so much of my time growing up with her. Every moment spent with Mimi was never a dull one. Whether it was our Tuesday nights playing board games, watching old TV shows, learning how to be a twirler just like her or baking, to the classic holidays, having the best outfits, showing every single one of my christmas gifts, and of course, having “just a little bit” of each dessert.

Mimi was my biggest supporter. She never missed a dance performance, school dance, halloween or lunch date. Anything that was going on, Mimi was the first one there and stayed until she was the last.

Because of Mimi, I know how important time spent with family is, how to be present in every moment, selflessly take care of others before myself and how to live each day to the fullest because we do only get one chance.

And thanks to her, I know how to correctly make my bed, bake the best crumb cake ever, make amazing breakfasts and know how to scratch every lotto ticket under the sun.

I can’t imagine a life without my Mimi. She taught me so much and I can only hope to be half the person she was. It is hard to believe that I am coming home and she won’t be there to gossip about everything going on in my life, but I know that she will continue to guide me through every problem I face and goal I want to achieve.

Heaven gained a true angel on Tuesday and it brings me comfort you are with Grampy again. I will forever miss saying “I love you girl” to each other everyday.
