But in Gaza, logic is an unaffordable luxury. Reality enforces its sheer absurdity on every detail; the entire world moves upside down. People navigate their days without calculations, piecing together the chaos just to craft some semblance of meaning to live by.
Facing a reality that defies all logic, one question lingers:
Have we broken the law... or have we become the law itself?

مُعرّب | Localized - Ep 04

Project: 2012 → 2023

Approach: Narrative parallel. Both are end-of-the-world stories one imagined it, one lived it. For us, 2012 and 2023 are the same disaster.

Art Direction: The WE WERE WARNED scene recreated with a Gaza context. No wave, just bombs. No monk, just civil defense. Abandonment is the disaster.

Deconstruction: Director’s cut : why I kept the formula and changed the disaster, grid / color / typography decisions in the attached slides.

المشروع: 2012 → 2023

المنهجية: توازي سردي. القصتان عن نهاية العالم: واحدة تخيلتها، وواحدة عشناها. بالنسبة إلنا، فيلم 2012 و حرب 2023 نفس الكارثة.

الإخراج الفني: إعادة خلق مشهد WE WERE WARNED بسياق غزة. لا موج، فقط قصف . لا راهب، فقط دفاع مدني. التخلي هو الكارثة.

التفكيك: نسخة المخرج الفني : ليش حافظت على المعادلة وغيرت الكارثة، قرارات الشبكة / اللون / التيبوغرافي في السلايدات المرفقة.

"الراس عالي ولا نبالي.. لو تعبنا وما شبعنا"
عمل بصري مبني على مقطع من أغاني فرقة دار قنديل القديمة. بعيداً عن التنميق، الأغنية بتحط الوجع والجوع بمواجهة مباشرة مع عزة النفس؛ كيف ممكن كل شي بالجسد يتعب، بينما الموقف بضل ثابت وما بينكسر.

Rooted in the archival music of Dar Qandeel. Their lyrics deliver a clear message without embellishment: exhaustion and hunger are real, but dignity and an unyielding stance remain non negotiable.

أَهَذا سَلامٌ؟
Is this peace?

يقفُ على حافّة الركام، ممسكاً برأسه كأنّه يحاول منع ذكرياته من الانهيار كما انهار البيت. كل زاوية كانت حياة، ضحكة، وتعب سنين تحوّل إلى غبار في لحظة واحدة. أيّ سلامٍ هذا الذي يُبنى على أنقاض أحلامنا؟

“Is this peace?”
Standing on the edge of the rubble, holding his head as if trying to keep his memories from collapsing just like his home did. Every corner was once filled with life, laughter, and years of hard work reduced to dust in a single heartbeat. What kind of peace is built on the ruins of innocent lives?

طائرة ورقية تفضح خوفكم.

A paper kite exposes your fear.

حين يصل الإفلاس بالاحتلال إلى إعلان الحرب على طائرات الأطفال الورقية واعتبارها "أهدافاً عسكرية"، يصبح الورق شاهداً على رعبهم، وتصبح كل طائرة في سماء غزة رداً حياً ورسالة لا تسقط.

مستوحى من كلمات الشهيد رفعت العرعير: «فليأتِ موتي بالأمل.. فليصبح حكاية».

When the occupation reaches a point where it wages war on children's paper kites, framing them as military targets, a simple kite becomes proof of their fear. Every kite in Gaza’s sky remains a message of unbroken hope.
