On July 4th, Daddy and I went to Port Jeff before we knew about you. We wandered into a little boutique, and I found a bumblebee bracelet that I felt so drawn to.

On July 5th, we took a test and found out we were pregnant with you. From that moment on, not a single day went by that we didn’t think about you. Our love for you grew so quickly and so deeply.

On July 26th, we got to see you for the first time and hear your tiny heartbeat. You were so strong.

On July 30th, your heart stopped.

No one can ever prepare you for this kind of loss. I’ll always wonder who you would have looked more like, what color your eyes would have been, what sports you would have played, what your laugh would have sounded like, and the incredible person you would have become.

I know you were welcomed at Heaven’s gates by your great-grandmothers, your great-grandfathers, your great-great-uncle Mike, and Auntie Lyss. I know they are holding you close until we can someday hold you again.

To our little Bumblebee, we will carry you with us forever and ever. We may never fully understand why this happened, but we find comfort knowing you are surrounded by so much love. As much as we wish you were here with us on Earth, we know you are in Heaven with family who will love and protect you until we meet again.

TW: Miscarriage 💔🪽

Nothing prepares you for the heartbreak of losing a baby. Nobody tells you how to navigate it or how to pick up the pieces when your entire world comes crashing down.

You hear things like, “You’re still young” or “It’s all in God’s timing.” While I believe God has a plan, that doesn’t make our loss hurt any less. Having faith doesn’t mean we don’t question why or wish things had turned out differently.

Today, I would have been 16 weeks pregnant. Instead of watching my belly grow and preparing to meet our baby, Sean and I are mourning all the memories we’ll never get to make.

Not a day goes by that we don’t think about our baby and all the “what ifs.”

I’ll never look at another positive pregnancy test with the same carefree excitement. Watching others celebrate their pregnancies is bittersweet. I’m genuinely happy for them, but I wish we were celebrating alongside them. Even the smallest reminders, like notifications telling me how many weeks pregnant I should be, bring the heartbreak right back.

I’m sharing our story for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month because miscarriage isn’t talked about enough. It’s mourning someone you never got to meet and a future you’d already fallen in love with.

Our baby existed. Our baby was loved. Our baby made us parents and changed our lives forever. Just because the world never got to meet our little one doesn’t make our loss any less real.

To our sweet baby,

I hope Heaven is beautiful and you’ve met everyone waiting to welcome you. I hope you know how badly Mommy and Daddy wanted you and how deeply we love you.

Until we finally get to hold you, we’ll carry you in our hearts.
