‘Inherited Grain’ - Carved, joined, and hand-finished, Inherited Grain explores the relationship between the practical and creative skills that have shaped my family. Made entirely of wood, the work draws on traditions of carpentry and craft—skills often passed down through generations not as “art,” but as necessity: building tables, repairing doors, shaping the structures of daily living.

Reframing my grandmas wooden toys, made from off cuts of my grandpas joinery work, as the necessity in this piece. #art #edinburgh #artwork #exhibition by @sarart1312
