Touring homes every day means you start noticing the little things that make a space feel like you’ve taken a Time Machine. These are common decor choices that quite make a home look antique— word art like “live laugh love”, fake ivy on cabinets and walls, heavy valances, worn bath rugs, fridge magnet galore, and much more. If you’re prepping to sell your home— like listing photos, showings, staging. Or you just want a fresh start, remove a few of these and you’ll see a difference. Save this for later — you’ll be shocked how many of these you’ve seen in real homes. #CTRealEstate #CTRealtor #HomeSellingTips #HomeSelling #SellerTips by @sarasellsct
Thinking about buying a home in 2027? 🏡 The 28% rule is a simple starting point for estimating how much home your income may support. Just remember, these are examples only. Your actual buying power will depend on things like interest rate, down payment, property taxes, homeowners insurance, HOA fees and your other monthly debts. 💾 Save this for later. If buying a home is on your 2027 goal list, DM me “HOME” and we can talk through what the numbers could look like for you. If you’re outside my area, I can also connect you with a trusted agent where you’re looking. #CTRealEstate #CTRealtor #HomeBuyingTips #FirstTimeHomeBuyer #HomeBuyer #RealEstateTips by @sarasellsct
Some of my best decisions started with a knot in my stomach and a hundred reasons to wait. I didn’t have all the answers, and I certainly didn’t feel ready. But I took the first step anyway, second guessing myself along the way. It’s easy to get caught up in everything that could go wrong. But what if it turns out better than you imagined? 🤍 #WhatIf #TakeTheChance #TrustYourself #PersonalGrowth by @sarasellsct

😂 Connecticut people are a different breed! We complain about the taxes, threaten to move south every winter, and then brag about our beautiful fall foliage. 🍂 We say “grinder,” “packy,” and argue Yankees vs. Red Sox! ⚾ ❤️ Love it or complain about it, there's no place quite like CT! Planning ahead can save your loved ones a lot of stress during an already difficult time. Here are 7 things Connecticut residents should know about estate planning: 1️⃣ Joint accounts don’t always transfer as expected. 2️⃣ POD beneficiaries may take precedence over your will for that account. 3️⃣ Bank account access may be restricted after a death. 4️⃣ Safe deposit box access may be delayed. 5️⃣ Adding a child to your account can create complications. 6️⃣ Power of attorney generally ends at death. 7️⃣ Keeping account information organized helps your family know where to start. A little planning today can make a big difference tomorrow. Consider speaking with an estate-planning attorney about your situation. 🏡 Thinking about downsizing, selling, or moving closer to family in Connecticut? Send me a message, and let’s talk about your next chapter. I’m here to help make the real estate side easier. #CTLiving #CTRealEstate #EstatePlanning #Homeownership #Downsizing by @sarasellsct
🏡🗺️ What Does Your Street Name Actually Mean? 🚗 When you're house hunting, you’ll see street names like Court, Crescent, Boulevard, and Lane. But what do these terms mean? 👀 Here’s a quick guide! 1. Court 🏘️ — Typically a short street or road ending in a cul-de-sac. 2. Crescent 🔄 — A curved street, often shaped like an arc. 3. Boulevard 🌳 — Traditionally a broad road, often with a landscaped median or tree-lined sides. 4. Avenue 🌲 — A road traditionally associated with a particular layout or tree-lined setting; its meaning varies by location. 5. Drive 🚗 — Often a road that follows the shape of the land or winds through a neighborhood. 6. Lane 🏡 — Traditionally a narrower or less-traveled road, sometimes private. 7. Alley 🧱 — A narrow passageway, often providing access behind or between buildings. ✨ Keep in mind: These are general conventions, not strict rules! In Connecticut, street names are often chosen for historical, geographic, or neighborhood reasons, so the name alone doesn't guarantee what the road looks like. 🏡 Looking for a home in Connecticut? The street name is just the beginning! The right location, neighborhood, and lifestyle matter far more. 📩 Ready to find your place in Connecticut? Send me a DM with the word “HOME” today! Let’s talk about what you’re looking for and make a plan to find the right home for you. 🔑💙 #CTRealEstate #CTHomes #HomeBuyingTips #ConnecticutHomes #HouseHunting by @sarasellsct
