Melbourne just made history 🥹🌇 For the first time ever, an Australian city has been named 🥇1 in the world in Time Out’s global ranking.

Not Sydney.
Not Brisbane.

It’s Melbourne.

Laneways, culture, coffee, food, music, art.

This city just hits differently.
Melbourne deserves this one.

Scenic Lake Walk 🥾 Just 45 minutes from Melbourne CBD.

This is part 16 of my Melbourne walks & hikes.

📍Blue Lake
Plenty Gorge Park
2km circuit walk.
Intermediate level

The “Blue Lake” is a popular spot in Plenty Gorge Park, specifically within Yellow Gum Park.

It is a former quarry that appears a striking blue color due to the specific geological features of the area, namely acid sulfate soils.
Visitors can walk a ~2km circuit around the lake, enjoy views from designated platforms, and utilize the available picnic and BBQ facilities.

While some people swim there, it is not advised due to risks of cold water, deep areas, and submerged objects.

The scenery on the walk down to the lake is stunning and you might even see some native wildlife like kangaroos grazing in the parklands!
