My cover of Spooky (Dusty Springfield) is out on YouTube.
Which got me thinking about Fear, and the role it plays in art. I wrote a Substack about it too.
Both can be found at the link in bio 🧟‍♀️

“Last week for the first time, I stood in front of a (modest) crowd, and did two covers with my boyfriend who was playing the guitar. Was it the lights? The abnormal Parisian heat? The fact that people didn’t really give a shit? Whatever happened that night: I sang, and I liked it. Sometimes I would forget where I was and get in flow. Sometimes I would remember, and I could hear my voice shake a little bit. But I sang. And I liked it.
So anytime you prove yourself that you are brave and strong and resilient enough to face the very thing that you think is going to kill you, you will experience tremendous joy and pride.
To anyone battling a phobia: you have a shortcut to ecstasy. It’s like that sentence “Without fear, there is no courage”. And without courage, there is no art.” taken in Paris, France by @saravanpe
