This past year taught me more about myself than I could have imagined.

I learned that heartbreak can change you, but it can also bring you back to yourself. That sometimes you have to lose yourself to discover who you really are. That healing isn’t linear, and that some days, simply getting through the day is enough.

I learned to enjoy my own company. To speak up. To set boundaries. To stop abandoning myself just to keep the peace. To choose myself without feeling guilty about it.

I learned that taking care of myself isn’t just about how I look. Working out became something I did for my mind as much as my body. I started running, built little habits, became more disciplined, and slowly learned that showing up for myself—even on the days I didn’t feel like it—matters.

I learned that happiness can be quiet. Sometimes it’s a workout, a morning coffee, a sunset, a good laugh, a peaceful night, or simply waking up and realizing that you’re okay again.

I learned to forgive myself for the versions of me that were hurting, and to let go of the things I couldn’t change.

Most importantly, I learned that I don’t want my pain to make me harder. I want it to make me wiser, while still keeping my softness.

I don’t have everything figured out at 27. But I know myself better. I know what I deserve. I know what I won’t settle for. And I know that no matter how many times life changes me, I can always find my way back to myself.

So here’s to 27.
To everything I lost, everything I learned, everything I survived, and everything I’m still becoming.

I think this year, I finally came home to myself.
