Chapter 34..At the beginning of my 33rd year I just knew it would be notable. I had an overwhelming feeling God had a special blessing for my “Jesus year” and He did not disappoint. He answered a prayer I’ve prayed for the majority of my life..Entering into this next year hopeful, excited, grateful, and with big expectations for an even bigger God..PC: @cjsteelphotography by @sardrews

Chapter 33. .When Jesus was 33 He willfully took the weight of the sins of this world and paid the ultimate price..He was humiliated, mocked, used, abused, abandoned, violated, broken, assaulted, insulted, and yet He had grace for the ones responsible..He said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Jesus knew in that very moment, He was dying for exactly what they were doing to Him..He experienced the separation sin brings between us and the Father and He wept sorrowfully. When it was time, Jesus uttered His last words “it is finished,” all at 33..Jesus’ whole life was in preparation for that moment of “completion,” and because He died at 33, I can live at 33—no mission to complete, but a purposeful life to continue..Where Jesus’ life ended, my life began and because He lives, I can face…today. .#birthday.PC: @cjsteelphotography by @sardrews

This morning I read Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” And though I’ve read this verse plenty of times, today it resonated with me more..Speaking life into others is easy, but what about how we speak to ourselves? Do we give ourselves the same motivational pep talks we give our friends? Do we encourage ourselves to make the best decisions the way we do our loved ones? Do we believe in ourselves the way we believe in others?.It’s normal to be our own harshest critic, but if the power of death and life are in the tongue, the harsh words we speak to ourselves are only breaking us down bit by bit..Let’s normalize building ourselves up and giving ourselves life by only speaking words that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtue, and praise. I challenge you to look yourself in the mirror and tell the person looking back at you “I’m sorry” and “I love you” and then move accordingly. 🤎 by @sardrews
