I've loved lamps for all my life! Modded an older piece for this one :-)

Bringing together the works of Andre Baynes, Zachary Besner, Sarah Boo, Anne Campbell, Nicole Coon, Anh Dao, Naomi Dodds, Daej Hamilton, Seden Lai, Tiffany Pang, Dylan Rutledge, Maxwell Sims, Sohyun Yoon, and Orit Zewge-Abubaker, “Lamps, Lamps, Lamps” is an exhibition that studies lighting as both functional and conceptual devices—treating illumination as a means of structuring visibility and shaping spatial experience.

Drawing on processes from industrial fabrication, craft, and digital technologies, the works explore themes of materiality, perception, domestic ritual, and the aesthetics of everyday infrastructure.

When the Cat Sleeps the Mice Dance brings together installations, sculptures, sound, and participatory gestures that animate the overlooked infrastructures shaping everyday life. Moving through industrial remnants, hidden systems, architectural leftovers, and reconfigured technologies, the exhibition considers what persists in spaces marked by human presence while simultaneously emptied of it where objects seem to hum, remember, communicate, and move on their own terms. Across playful, uneasy, and improvisational encounters, the works trace a shared desire to disrupt familiar structures and imagine forms of relation between bodies, materials, machines, and the space they inhabit.

MAY 7/ Night 2 / The inputted value is unusual (WORKSHOP + PERFORMANCE)

Our second night of What Is: noncompliance is a two-parter on playing and building with disobedience through transmission workshops and performances. Think sonic liberation.

Part 1 is THE WORKSHOP, an intro to DIY Transmission & Radio art. Facilitated by Auto Feeder, this workshop considers the untapped potential of radio frequencies beyond traditional broadcasting, from pirate transmissions to off-grid mesh networks. Participants build their own mini FM transmitter and take it home. The session ends with a live performance, where attendees will use their transmitters to contribute to an experimental sound composition by temporarily occupying the airwaves.

Part 2 is THE PERFORMANCE with Auto Feeder, beloved icon Rrose, and Parkdale Pirate Radio: Auto Feeder and workshop participants perform their transmission piece live, followed by underground worldwide techno legend and transdisciplinary artist Rrose performing an unamplified gong piece by James Tenney, titled “Having Never Written a Note for Percussion." From 9-11 PM, Parkdale Pirate Radio broadcasts a renegade edition of DISCO 3000 on 87.5 FM.

AUTOFEEDER x XODKAAR - (Noise/Experimental) delivered a harsh industrial noise duet the way only they can for my birthday party & celebration of International Women's Day 3-6-26 at BSMT 254! It was such a special evening for me and I am thankful for every performer who took part, to Christine Lucy Latimer fot the gorgeous analog visuals all night, to everyone who came out to support & to BSMT 254 for having us and for being so wonderful to work with!
