Mama Lake’s Date Night 🍫🥜

Ingredients 8 dates

8 Medjool dates
80g crunchy peanut butter
120g dark milk chocolate
1 tsp coconut oil (optional)
Small pinch of sea salt (optional)

Method

1. Slice the dates lengthways and remove the stones, keeping them joined.
2. Fill each date with approximately 10g peanut butter.
3. Melt the chocolate gently in the microwave in 20–30 second bursts, stirring between each one.
4. Dip each stuffed date into the melted chocolate or spoon it over the top, letting it drip down the sides.
5. Sprinkle with a tiny pinch of sea salt if you like.
6. Place on baking paper and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes until the chocolate has set.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

At 57, I can honestly say I’ve never hated this body. See this body and in turn this scar went on to save me!

No matter what my size, shape or weight I was, I always knew my body was doing its best for me.

It fought to keep me alive, at my heaviest and lightest. During treatment and grief. 🙌🏼

I understand and appreciate that the body can hear you, and in turn it will respond to you! So I choose to speak to mine with love, respect and encouragement. I honour myself!

Because it wasn’t any of those numbers on the scales that got me through. It was how I nourished my body, together with my strength, my resilience and my determination! And so far this body has protected and saved me! So I will listen to my body until it’s my time. So remember! Nourish yourself. Respect yourself and Speak kindly to yourself!

Your body can hear you. ❤️

On 25th July 2026, I had the joy of being with my radiant friend Mena at a truly wonderful party. She is the white chocolate to my brown chocolate, sweet, distinct, and perfectly complementary. 🤍🤎

We are two Scorpios bold, beautiful, and unstoppable. She is a queen with Polish fire. I am a resilient warrior. Together, we embody the fierce, magnetic strength of Scorpio energy. 🦂♏️

At 57, the last five years have tested me in ways I never imagined. But every single day, I showed up. I moved my body. Despite my diagnosis, I kept my health in focus, even when the road was long. Thank you 2025 for one of the best years of my life! This year I lived out the dreams I had lying in a hospital bed, battling #leukaemia! Amongst many amazing things, I became a cat Nanima! I saw my eldest son reach 30, my book was finalised on the 10th May, and then self published. I can’t tell you how that felt holding the first copy in my hand, it was one of the best gifts ever. My 10 long years of writing a book and becoming an #author paid off. The end of that month of May, I played live electric guitar with my brother @raykeithdread1 in his band @thejazzcafe in London. Then the news came that I was to be a grandmother early 2026. July, I went to @ibiza, and had the time of my life! I danced and danced and met the most beautiful people! After I came back, my book gained popularity and I appeared in the local papers, on @bbcessex radio to talk about my journey. In September I had my book launch at my beloved club @bannatynekingsfordpark! My book and journey made the national papers @dailymirror and the @dailyexpress. I became an advocate for @anthonynolancharity to raise awareness for stem cell donation. And I ended the year on a high note, by going out and having the time of my life! From going clay pigeon shooting to #saatchi_gallery. My son’s walked in their beautiful cousins fashion show @milovogue. Finally, I became a #lifecoach and #publicspeaking. What an amazing year it’s been. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the most incredible and inspiring people along the way. To everyone that made these dreams possible, thank you, thank you, thank you. Love to all my family and friends, especially my three sons @rahimlake @khaliq.lake @azim.lake! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL! Let’s see what 2026 brings!🫶🏻 by @sarezahlake

I’m still sitting here in complete awe—it’s surreal to think that the first woman I ever loved, besides my own mother, is now carrying our little mini-me. My mum taught me what real support looks like, and I’m grateful for every lesson, because it’s helped me be the partner you deserve, Katy. 💙
