this will be a long post but i don’t mind and i surely hope that you don’t either !

when i was much younger i’d dream of seeing the world and experiencing every opportunity that comes my way. in my youth that was barely possible since I didn’t come from money and couldn’t do much due to lack of sources. i owe this trip to my younger self, who had dreamed every day and kept a positive attitude above all because she believed everything was possible. in my adult years i still believe anything is possible, with the right mind and heart.

going to california seemed so far away from being possible, especially performing at WOD summit with dancers from around the globe. but with the grit and determination i put into making this trip happen, it all seemed worth it in the end. going into my seventh wod i thought it would be just like the previous six times, but i couldn’t have been more wrong. i’ve taken classes with big name dancers, saw shows from dancers from different countries, and said hello to many new faces. there were trials and tribulations that have discouraged me from doing my best and enjoying myself, but in the end i knew it was in me to not give up.

to my friends, you’re the stars in my sky. to my dancer colleagues, we’ve come together like the constellations the universe projected for others to find beauty and joy in. to my mentors and instructors, i never forgotten one second how to fade as the sunlight i have came to be. to my family that rooted for me in indy, you’re what make my universe come to life.

this isn’t the end of course, as i feel the universe watches over me and protects me constantly. she’s directed me into the right paths whether it felt natural or not. whatever comes next i’m sure i’ll be prepared for, and i know there’s still a whole world for me to explore and waiting for me. taken in Anaheim, California by @sariajraine
