Seeing dogs thrive here makes us wish every dog could have a Dog Life.

So, from the very beginning, we made a promise to help dogs at our local shelter — the Town of Rochester Animal Control — simply because they deserve it. And for every dog who boards with us, we set aside a portion to support them with an annual donation, too.

Please meet our new friend, Bunny.

For the past couple of weeks, we’ve been spending time with him every day — extra play, fresh air, and the kind of steady human care that helps a dog rebuild confidence and trust. Sara and RaeLyn have begun gentle skill-building games and enrichment with him, too, but what you should know right now is this: he’s an absolute sweetheart.

Bunny is a big, strong boy who’ll need the right person to foster and/or adopt to see just how special he is. Until then, we’re here to make sure his days feel fuller, safer, and a little more hopeful.

If you think you might be that person, please contact the town shelter at 845-626-5979 or write to: doggonejill@aol.com.

We’ll keep sharing Bunny’s journey as it unfolds! 🐾

Some dogs run headfirst into the snow. ❄️
Others supervise from the fireplace. 🔥
Both are correct.

Shown here: Duncan, Maple, and Teddy at full speed; & Frannie getting toasty by our fireplace.

Welcome to Dog Life!

Dog Life offers expert-led training, boarding, and daycare in a calm, home-like setting designed for dogs who thrive with structure, enrichment, and thoughtful human care.

We intentionally work with small, curated groups so every dog gets what they actually need — not what fits a schedule or a system.

Our approach is:
• science-based
• gentle and progressive
• focused on confidence, not compliance

We serve families in NYC, Hudson Valley, New Jersey, and Connecticut with transport available.

If you’re looking for a place where your dog is truly known — not just managed — you’re in the right place.

This sweet pup Rufus lost his home back in 2018 and we can’t let it happen again. Please help me raise a little $$ for food, meds and necessary ongoing training for this guy as his mom gets back on her feet after losing her job. Link in bio. by @sarjarr
