Masoud Pezeshkian is an Iranian heart surgeon and politician. He was born on September 29, 1954, in Mahabad, Iran. He studied medicine and specialized in cardiac surgery.
Pezeshkian served as the Minister of Health and Medical Education from 2001 to 2005. He also represented the people of Tabriz, Azarshahr, and Osku in the Iranian Parliament for several terms.
