April 4th’s epic @dazn battle between Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora marked Derek’s 50th professional bout and featured a specially-commissioned SARTONK piece dubbed the “Fifty-Fight Salute.”

The belt, commissioned by his longtime friend and noted jewler Glenn Spiro, accentuated Derek Chisora’s long career, roots and heritage from Zimbabwe and the UK, and highlighted his personal post-fight tradition of ordering @fiveguys burgers for all, which he was filmed doing in the locker rooms after the bout.

One side notes Chisora as a People’s Champ while the other features a message from Five Guys: “We Celebrate You. Thank you, Champ!” Congrats and gratitude to both gladiators who exemplified warrior spirit and stunning sportsmanship. Congrats, Derek! Wear it in good health for years to come.

Big love @armeniancreators for this feature, which I’m reposting with permission. Felt so special to be uplifted within our community, and in company with so many friends and brilliant creatives.

A century after genocide, we still face fascist ideology and existential threat but, all over the world—as captured by this beautiful account—we’re contributing with vibrancy and heart, reminding me of the quote by our timeless bard, Paruyr Sevak: “We are few but we are called Armenian.”

May our Armenianness today, globally, stand with all who suffer oppression and against all oppressors.
