📚💕 Hey Book Friends!
I’m Sarah! I was born and raised in Seattle, WA but have called Arizona my home for the last 10 years.

When I don’t have my nose stuck in a book, I’m usually in the kitchen cooking something creative, healthy and delicious, playing in the garden or having furbaby snuggles on the patio with an iced coffee. I’m passionate about healing our bodies through food and prioritize a low stress lifestyle with daily meditation and analog activities.

I joined Bookstagram on a whim, thinking it would be a great idea to stretch my mind and start developing book reviews to support my cognitive processing goals. What I have found here is a vibrant community of not just book lovers but creatives! From Indie Authors to creative content creators and small business owners, I absolutely love discovering all the talented people in this space!

In three short months my account has grown beyond what I had ever imagined and I find myself passionate about content creation for Indie Authors as I continue reading through their ARCs as they come up in addition to the queue I developed when I started.

Starting things off this week with 2 Seasonal Favorites from an Author I just discovered this year and absolutely LOVE! These two books from Melissa Albert are must reads for spooky season!

Our Crooked Hearts by Melissa Albert was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read from me earlier this year and immediately went on the top of my list for October witchy read recs.

The Children by Melissa Albert

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mysterious and eloquently descriptive, this beautifully written Gothic Horror novel had me in wonder at the turn of every single page!

A rundown isolated farmhouse, artistically inclined parents and children left behind to the whirlwind lifestyle of their parents.

Odd behavior and unexplained presence takes over the household… as adults the children are left to put back together the pieces of themselves left behind by the trauma endured during their childhood.

This book was entrancing! So unique and perplexing… it had me wondering if it would ever have a satisfying conclusion or just continue to keep me swept up in this cryptic story. The ending definitely did not disappoint though!

Melissa Albert has become a new favorite author for me this year! After reading her book Our Crooked Hearts this year and enthusiastically enjoying it, I’m excited to say this book exceeded my expectations!

🫢💕🤗 Wild & Out Wednesday 🤗💕🫢

This is a series where I rave about the books that both were a complete blast to read AND gave me all the feels with their subject matter, depth and character development!

Today I’m raving about The Sun in Winter by @carolinemansourauthor . I have been OBSESSED with this book since I read the ARC and could barely put it down!

The book is captivating, brings an enormous amount of depth and character development while absolutely lighting up the readers world with fun, flawed and very real scenes that will make you both laugh and cry.

I highly recommend this book and hope you will add it to your TBR and read it very soon!
