A beautiful piece of music - played on my beautiful KoAloha ukulele - on a beautiful day 🥰

The song is called Lonesome Fiddle Blues — but let’s call it Lonesome Ukulele Blues today.
I really love this melody; I could play it for hours...
Hope you enjoy it too.

Clawmmer on ukulele :
When I heard someone playing clawhammerstyle on ukulele for the first time, I immediately fell completely in love with it!

In this video, I play a few practice variations on a famous old-time tune called "Cripple Creek". It took me quite some practice 😉! Soon, I will post a video of this tune with some vocal parts, playing and singing together with the lovely @Joycemartensmusic so stay tuned!

About the playing style:
It's because of the re-entrant tuning that this originally banjo-technique suits so well for the ukulele: a 5-string banjo also has this high tuned string. The term ‘Clawhammer' refers both to the shape of your hand as you play (claw-like), and the way that you strike the strings: by hammering them with the back of your index finger nail and then alternately pluck the high g string with your thumb.

My daughter @itsjami_ took this beautiful photo. She managed to capture me in the right setting. The atmosphere really tells something about my identity: through my background in theater design and art, I enjoy contemplating what a visual image communicates...

La partida part II✨ We were working on this cover for a while, not exactly knowing what to do with it and which rythm to decide on😆 We even changed it a bit right before our performance. You can do so much with this song! We're exited to see how it will evolve in the next couple months😂♥️ #ukulele #music #ukuleleduo #ukulelemusic #monopolele taken in Monopoli - Puglia by @sas_van_s

First time @monopolelefest ... forever in love. 🤍

Just two besties, and a stolen hour in the most idyllic little streets of Monopoli. Sometimes the best moments aren't planned....

Ad | This TOM S7 ukulele was gifted to me as part of a collaboration 🖤

Been having fun exploring Minor Swing solo ideas lately. Here I'm playing around with some harmony lines.

We had such a blast playing at @monopolelefest ♥️ Sharing the stage together is something we wanted to do for a long time and we really enjoyed doing it. We hope to do many more of these🤩 Here's the first part of 'La partida' - a Venezuelan vals we like to cover! #ukulele #music #ukuleleduo #livemusic #monopolele taken in Monopoli - Puglia by @sas_van_s

Cooked up this solo for a Venezuelan Vals. Practicing on repeat 🥹

(BTW, my Enya tenor ukulele is tuned like a baritone for travel purposes)

I’m still glowing after a visit from my Danish friend from way back 🤍
A whole lifetime happened in between—both of us becoming single moms, her not having touched her recorder in 30 years…

If only we could do this forever....

Getting a little into jazz ukulele with this classic swing song 'All of Me' , simple on the surface, so much to learn underneath.

Here’s a little snippet of a self-written solo as a variation on the Raggle Taggle Gypsy tune.
