Toukokuussa mennään asteen kovemmalla setillä kun ravintola @loiloirooftop vaihtaa isomman pykälän silmään. Illan aikana DJ Yagura laittaa levylautasille jungle ja drum and bass helmiä sekä DJ tmuckle syöttää house ja italo klassikoita minkä kerkiää. 𝐘𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐚 ❤️‍🔥

Listening to Drum & Bass started at a very young age for Yagura. He experienced the genre for the first time around the age of 5 thanks in particular to the soundtracks of various PlayStation games in the late 1990s, but it truly started to become his musical weapon of choice when in junior high school he discovered drum machine and production software as well as liquid and neurofunk drum & bass.

Around 2008 drum & bass cemented itself as his favorite style when he started listening to jump-up, oldschool jungle and drumfunk; the wobble basslines of jump-up and dubstep, the rhythm and beats of jungle, his first visits to nightclubs and the increasing interest in audio production greatly influenced Yagura’s taste for drum & bass. After trying out mixing on his friend’s turntables he also started his DJ journey in late 2011.

Over the years he produced tunes of various styles, with a handful of small releases including a pair of tracks on both Fanu’s label Lightless and Levela’s Multi Function. For around the past 5 years Yagura has mainly been focusing on mixing, honing his skills by following the example of his favorite performers. His sets are mostly mixed at a high tempo with lots of combos and double drops, the track selection mainly being heavy, bouncy and wacky but also at times deep and atmospheric.

We’ve waited a long time to get him on board, and now he’s finally here – the one and only Yagura.

Yagura first experienced drum&bass in the late 1990s thanks to various PlayStation game soundtracks. As the new millennium began he started to find out more about neurofunk, liquid, jungle and jumpup. DJing since late 2011, Yagura enjoys mixing at a high tempo with lots of combos and double drops, mostly playing tracks that are heavy, bouncy and wacky but sometimes deep and atmospheric as well. He loves the sound of 2000-2010s jumpup, which you will surely hear alongside other styles!

It’s 3am, most people are asleep, but you’re still on the dancefloor – you’ve made the right choice.

27.08.2017 aloitin taekwon-don valkoisena vyönä. Tänään suoritin 1. asteen mustan vyön. 🥋

Opittavaa on edelleen valtavasti, mutta olen kehittynyt paljon tähänkin mennessä.

@kat5ku - Ensimmäinen opettajani. Tunneillasi oppi ja oli hauskaa; sait minut innostumaan lajista ja jatkamaan sen parissa!
