Never Forget 9/11/2001 💔
The day my childhood ended and the world as I knew it was over... I grew up playing soccer in battery parks DSL a few blocks away from the WTC. I remember looking up and being mesmerized by New York City’s iconic towers. They were the heart, the beat, the pulse of the city. It was how I knew I was home when flying in or driving in from anywhere. The towers illuminated on a summers night or its silhouette in the skyline during a beautiful NY sunset. After that day, I’ve never been the same, New York has never been the same. Thinking of all those who passed and sacrificed themselves to save others in a time when selflessness was embedded in everyone. It was a moment when New Yorkers stood together but also a moment where part of me died on the inside. My bubble had burst and in that instance the innocence of my childhood was lost forever. 🙏 by @sash19
