I am so proud of these two incredible women for their dedication, grace, and commitment to making our country shine.

After 3 editions, what I see is more than a competition it’s LOVE. We are linked as family. ❤️

Not gonna lie, I was STRESSED that night! 😅 My only goal was for everything to go perfectly, even my official opening walk had to be memorable!

But WOW, you all made it more than perfect, you made it MAGICAL. ✨

Thank you to everyone who made this evening absolutely wonderful! I felt all the love. ❤️

This photo was taken right after we crowned the new Miss. I looked at Dorcas and I said, « Oh, I’m going to miss you so much. » But we already have a lifetime bond, and it was so beautiful and magical.

In that moment, all our memories from this adventure came rushing back.

Beyond the crown, beyond being a Director, we become FAMILY. And that will always be the truth.

That’s why my mission as a Director, Organizer, Coach and Manager is to take care of my Misses, and for my Misses to also take care of me, so we can keep lifting each other up.

My ultimate goal is to make my queens shine so they can go even further.

L’organisation de MISS AURORA RDC informe le public que, par décision du Comité d’Organisation, Bénédicte Kabamba est exclue du concours avec effet immédiat.

Cette décision fait suite à des comportements et attitudes incompatibles avec les règles, les valeurs et les exigences de respect et de discipline établies par l’organisation.

Après examen de la situation, le Comité a décidé de mettre définitivement fin à sa participation au concours.

Cette décision relève exclusivement de l’Organisation.

Nous invitons l’ensemble des parties à respecter cette décision.

🇨🇩 DR CONGO WILL NOT COMPETE AT MISS GLOBAL 2026.

Cœur Africain has announced that its representative, Dorcas Mubalamba, will no longer participate in the upcoming Miss Global 2026 competition.

According to the official communiqué, the decision was made due to organisational and scheduling constraints that would not allow the necessary preparation and support for her participation.

We wish Dorcas all the best in her journey ahead. ❤️🇨🇩

Exploring the city and its identity, stylist @tybustha selected an outfit from our Spring-Summer 2026 « Latin World » collection: a sheer mesh tunic (cotton-polyester blend) featuring ruffles that harmonize with the fabric. The ensemble is paired with a wide leather belt and biker-style leather gloves.

Pyramid-heeled shoes complete the minimalist look.

WILL THE Democratic republic Of Congo 🇨🇩 STILL PARTICIPATE IN MISS GLOBAL 2026?

For several weeks now, there has been silence following the crowning of our queen, Dorcas Mubalama, as Miss Global DRC 2026.

With the competition set to begin in just a few days, we still have no official news regarding her participation. No introductory video has been released on the official Miss Global accounts, and—unlike several other contestants—our queen does not yet appear on the official People’s Choice website.

❓ Is this a sign? Will the DRC actually participate in this edition?

We do not wish to jump to conclusions, but these factors naturally raise questions within the Congolese community.

🇨🇩 To the organizers and members of the Miss Global DRC committee: we are asking for clarification regarding our queen Dorcas Mubalama’s participation in Miss Global 2026.

Our community deserves to be informed and reassured.

We await your official statement. 👑🇨🇩

Alors que la compétition doit débuter dans quelques jours, nous n’avons toujours pas de nouvelles officielles concernant sa participation. Aucune vidéo de présentation n’a encore été publiée sur les comptes officiels de Miss Global, et notre reine ne figure pas non plus, à ce jour, sur le site officiel de People’s Choice, contrairement à plusieurs autres candidates.

❓ Est-ce un signe ? La RDC participera-t-elle réellement à cette édition ?

Nous ne souhaitons pas tirer de conclusions hâtives, mais ces différents éléments suscitent naturellement des interrogations au sein de la communauté.

After the competition on Saturday, a few people came to me and told me that maybe I would have made Top 6 if I had kept my Red preliminary gown. I’ll never know if that’s true, and I don’t want to take anything away from the women who advanced or from an experience I am genuinely grateful for. But I do know why I chose this dress.

I am an American citizen. I proudly represented Illinois on that stage. But I am also an African woman, born in the Democratic Republic of Congo 🇨🇩 , and I didn’t want to feel like I had to leave that part of myself behind in order to belong on an American stage. So when it came time to choose my gown, I chose something that felt like me.

And yes, hearing afterward that my choice might have affected how far I went hurt so much for a moment. But I refuse to turn that into regret. I made Top 21, then Top 11, wearing something that honored a part of who I am. I can be proud of that.

This experience taught me something I want every immigrant, every first-generation woman, and every person navigating more than one culture to remember: you should never be ashamed of the pieces of yourself that came from somewhere else.

Learn the room. Learn the system. Grow from every experience. Take the advice that will make you better. But never become so focused on being accepted that you lose yourself in the process.
I can represent America and still honor Congo. 🇺🇸🇨🇩
I can represent Illinois and still celebrate my African roots.
One identity does not erase the other.

With that being said, this is my final pageant competing in the United States, and I’m closing this chapter with gratitude, never bitterness. I learned, I grew, I met incredible women, and I proudly made Top 11. Most importantly, for the first time, I experienced a National Director who showed me genuine care and true leadership. Miss Laura, I’ll always be grateful and I’ll always be there when you need me. 💙

Maybe this dress was more than a gown. It was a reminder:

Know who you are. Know where you come from. And wherever life takes you, never be afraid to bring that woman with you.

And BTW… I’m still your Miss Cosmo Illinois! 💙 My reign isn’t over yet. 😉 by @sash_drcongo
