Loving Lovis began in 2021, when four friends came together with the naïve dream of making a movie from nothing. Armed with a single camera and microphone, no script and no crew, they roamed the city capturing the story of three friends navigating freedom, friendship and love. Set against Berlin’s vibrant neighbourhoods and a soundtrack of local music, the film blends melodrama and mumblecore, drifting between slice-of-life and myth. A raw, playful exploration of freedom and its contradictions — built on camaraderie, risk, and a stubborn ideal.
