SASS Concepts is proof of one thing we are certain of:

God has, can, and will take ordinary people and use them as instruments for His mission and purposes. Not to put someone on a pedestal, but to point to Him.

Make no mistake: SASS Concepts is not run or owned by someone of any major significance.

The work itself is only significant because of Whom and What it points to. The work is only the means to the significant end.

Everything we have is from God, made possible through God, and belongs to God. Anything we own is just on loan for the time being.

Ask yourself if the end goal of all your work will matter for eternity. by @sassconcepts

Buying Durable D.O.P.E.™️ supports snipers:

Moreover, it supports long range matches held across the US put on by every kind of long range enthusiasts. We’ve given Durable D.O.P.E.™️ to everyone from special operations and national guard to people trying to do small matches for good causes.

These donations keep people supported in their work and their hobbies, and allow people to walk away with something, even if it’s just a dope sticker for their rifle. It’s something they can use to get better.

The @nocpix_usa ULTRA MATE

We spent an entire day getting as excellent as footage as possible through the ULTRA MATE, and even 4K video footage can't do it justice of engaging out to over 1000 yards on IPSC steel targets.

To be clear, we've used $100,000 MWIR cooled units such as the INOD Block III, HISS HD, and HISS XLR.

The NocPix ULTRA MATE comes in at 6000, but that includes a 905nm (NIR) laser rangefinder built-in.

We have also used another thermal with a 640 sensor for comparison, but the image is far superior on the NocPix. We think the 3x magnification is exactly what the image looks on the NocPix but even up to 10, 12, even 15x with only some degradation.

The other 640 sensor tends to max out at 7/8x, with no reason to magnify higher.

If you are looking to pick one up, don't hesitate. We are also a dealer for NocPix/IRAY, so feel free to ask us any questions.

Thank you to @nocpix_usa and @acme_armi for letting us get footage on this device for the benefit of many who are curious and in the market for a high-quality, long-range capable clip-on.

A follow up from last night on thermals…

We meant to hit “schedule” instead of “post” last night, so now we’re here. Here’s part 2 on thermals, but we’d recommend you go read the prior post.

We got some images early this morning while everything was unaffected by the sun’s thermal radiation of daylight. We also zoomed in way more to show where sensor quality starts to become obvious.

Notice how the milikelvin (mK) differences come into play here when everything is about the same temperature. Also notice the little bird in the bushes on then bottom right corner.

At 2.5x we see again somewhat similar images with one being more contrasting than the other. But at 8x, a power transformer box (about 25x35 inches or so) becomes noticeably pixelated on 640 when compared to the 1280 sensor. Notice the jagged edges on the house as well and how much more refined the 1280 looks.

No matter what magnification we are at, notice how FOV of the thermals is almost exactly the same, despite the Ultra Mate having a much larger lens, due in part to its doubled sensor resolution. The LUCHS 1 has a FOV of 22m at 100m, whereas the NocPix has a 25.6m FOV.

One of these thermals is 2K, the other 6K. We think the differences are obvious, but where one finds value in a thermal system completely depends on what they’re doing.

Engaging at distance with LWIR is becoming easier:

Long Wave Infrared has made leaps and bounds of progress in the past few years, where devices that used to be $10,000+ were your only option for long range thermal engagements.

We’ve used everything from $100k thermals to $2000 thermals, and we most people will never need Mid Wave Infrared cryogenically cooled thermals with how fast LWIR is progressing.

This @nocpix_usa Ultra Mate brings forth an option that bridges the gap between long range precision users and hunters. The refinement of the image that you keep out to distance is what is most noticeable when using the Ultra Mate clip-on when compared to the other option we have.

What we think is interesting is these two pictures taken from an iPhone 16 through a 1-8 ATACR. It begs the question of how much you need to see and how refined you need to see it. One might think the pictures look similar upon first glances, but there are very distinct differences.

Using the specs we’ve provided for the devices, see if you can determine which device is which image and why you think that is. The LRF range overlay (green) is the @maztech_industries FCS system for those curious.

We will be getting much more time behind different optics with the same clip ons and take more footage through various optics with our Scopemate.

Note: all images were safely captured

M110 SASS

Still a system used by many groups and individuals, it lives on in armories across the United States.

It’s been adapted and modified to meet various requirements for large frame gassers, but the iconic M110 is recognizable even by its silhouette.

The story of SASS Concepts is pretty straightforward:

One step of faith after another. Not perfect, just consistent.

In between all these milestones are countless hours of conversations, encouragement, training, competitions, sponsoring, and supporting the advancement of long precision shooting.

It’s incredibly cool to be working in this space, and we’re doing our best to make the most of it for everyone we interact with. by @sassconcepts

Have Switch Barrel Sniper Rifle. Will Travel.

This @cadexdefence Kraken already has a lot of miles and rounds on it. Having a bolt gun is great, but having several rifles in one system is even better.

We can’t wait to get a new caliber and bolt in the future of for this system when the time comes.
