السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته ،

"The purpose of religion is to control yourself, not criticize others."

When I read this I automatically thought about how we think when we are outside or with some people, we see their actions and how they do stuff and start to criticize them. Thinking that this is not allowed and they are doing it and you don't do it or how could they do that etc.
But what we really forget is that what we are doing at that time, we are criticizing them, we are judging them and who are we to judge or criticize. When Allah can forgive us, who are we to judge them. We don't think that what if that person could be closer to Allah than us. We stop thinking about our actions. Does religion teach you to judge others. Does it give you the right to criticize them.
And in the end we would say that we are not judging or criticizing them, we are just saying it.
Everyone is going to go in their own graves, think about your own grave and let others be worried about their own.

I celebrated international eldest daughters day -with eldest daughters, had fun and Healed.

so therapeutic

In a family of many demands, I was the first. The eldest. The trial run. And yet, somehow, I was pampered.

Not with things, but with space. I started reading when I was nine, and in those pages, I found the words I didn’t yet have. I learned that ‘no’ wasn’t a rebellion it was a boundary. And when I said it, my parents didn’t punish me they listened.

They let me be a child. They let me live in my head, lose myself in stories, and still come back to the dinner table. They gave me the room to grow sideways before I grew up.

So now, I carry this with me the softness of being understood, the strength of a voice I was allowed to use, and the luck of being the eldest daughter who didn’t have to be the mother.

I was protected. I was loved. And I was free.

am forever grateful to my parents 🤍

Building Her, Building us

A huge thank you to @thenortherntherapist for curating space that celebrated the hustle, the tears and the wins of being a business woman. the ups test you, the downs teach you!!

I left the “building her” event feeling seen, heard and challenged. its rare to find a space where you can openly talk about the downs of being a business woman. the northern therapist created an environment that was different it was intimate , raw and focused on real connections rather than just handling out business cards .

meeting and networking with so many passionate women has shifted my perspective. the way forward is community over competition. thank you to the northern therapist and arewa connect community for creating such a transformative experience.

P.S next time you hear of such events please don’t hesitate to miss enjoyed every bit of it and the fact it was done in my fav color 💜

I remember the first time my younger sibling came to me, confused and scared, because her body was changing and she didn’t understand why. That moment changed something in me.

As the big sister (and big cousin to many), I realized that education starts at home. We don’t just hand over a pad and walk away—we sit them down, hold their hands, and teach them that menstruation is not a curse, it is power. We teach them that their bodies are not a source of shame, but a source of strength.

That is exactly why I am deeply passionate about the MER Project – the Menstrual Pad Bank Emergency Response Project by @thriveher_health_initiative

Its a school-based safety net that ensures if her period starts unexpectedly, she won’t run home in tears. She won’t miss that important exam. She will walk to the emergency pad bank, get what she needs, and stay in class with her head held high.

Now, why did I choose humanitarian aid?

Honestly? Because I can’t look away. I chose this path because I know that a simple sanitary pad can determine whether a girl becomes a dropout or a graduate. I chose it because every time I see a young girl’s confidence crumble over something as natural as a period, I see my own little sister. And I refuse to let that be her story.

Humanitarian aid, to me, isn’t just about handing out supplies it’s about handing out dignity. It’s about creating systems that catch us when we fall.

P.s the girls wanted a picture with me and we took many am glad they could reach out to us and asked us a lot of questions which in many homes they aren’t taught.
