Movies and series centered on AsianAms, by AsianAms, for all to enjoy. No more waiting for permission or catering to the system.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We passed 10k followers and vast majority of the comments have been super supportive but I just had to share this one lol 😂 I didn’t know there were such diehard fans of Brenda Song out there! And apparently casting her would prove I’m truly for AsianAm representation 😭

Ppl heard me say “studio” and “movie” and automatically have a perception of what I’m doing here. I guess I should feel flattered that ppl think I’m some big time hot shot filmmaker 🤷🏻‍♂️ For now, I’ve been very upfront and transparent with what Saturday School is– starting small and being smart, not flashy or fronting. Working outside the system. Why am I catching heat for something CRA did 9 yrs ago?? 😅

Anyway, Brenda likely won’t be in this first film.. Hope we can still be friends. 🫶 by @satschoolstudios

Follow @satschoolstudios and together let’s take control of our own stories. I’m not relying on Hollywood’s unstable “taste” to decide when we have opportunities to authentically put us front and center. If you want to support this endeavor, DM me over there! by @satschoolstudios

10 years since “Everything Before Us”, and I’m making my next movie. Been busy making series, making boba, and making kids.. and also observing how the industry and community was moving.. and the time has come.

Last video was introducing my new endeavor @satschoolstudios, now let’s talk a little bit about the first film that we will be producing on the slate, “Sung”!

So much more to say and share about this film, and others in development, and the response to these announcements. Overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and encouragement. Stay tuned. Follow along. Saturday School is in session. by @satschoolstudios

I’m eternally grateful to have had you all in my corner supporting each new chapter of my life. You’ve joined me on my journey through @wongfupro, then adding @bopomofocafe, and entering fatherhood— it’s been an unbelievable ride thus far.

Everything I’ve done the past 23 years is why I feel so much conviction to dedicate even more work to my Asian American community. I know the power we hold, I can envision what we deserve. I find pride and purpose in pushing us forward in media and the arts.

Follow @satschoolstudios to support the next evolution of all the work and passion I’ve poured into telling our stories. More to come! by @satschoolstudios
