✨ Meet The Saturday Program!

We’re excited to introduce who we are, what we do, and where we’re headed next.

The Saturday Program is a student-led tutoring and mentorship initiative dedicated to supporting high school students through free tutoring, workshops, and mentorship.

As we continue to grow, we’ve officially transitioned into a non-profit organization, allowing us to expand our reach and build a stronger, more connected community across Canada. 🌎

Today, we’re proud to have two chapters at UofT and UBC, with more opportunities to grow in the future. 🎓

Swipe through to learn more about our mission, our history, and our chapters and see how you can get involved! 📚 by @saturdayprogram.uoft

If you’re a healthcare student, and you want to earn CEE and IPE credits while setting up the next generation of students for success, the Saturday Program would love to have you!

The Saturday Program has been operating since 1996, serving as an organization providing free tutoring to underrepresented high school students from all around the GTA.

This year, we have four positions open for applications, with our newest one being the Core Volunteer-Tutor (CV-T) combined role!

By joining us as a CORE VOLUNTEER, you can help our organization’s operations and logistics during our tutoring sessions.

By joining us as a TUTOR, you would be giving students invaluable academic guidance and mentorship to help them achieve their goals and work towards their ambitions. Applying for the SPECIALIZED TUTOR position allows you to receive extra training to help students requiring extra assistance!

By joining us as a CV-T, you will be contributing to our program participating in both the roles of a core volunteer and a tutor!

Apply now with the link in our bio or our Linktree! by @saturdayprogram.uoft

Meet the Saturday Program’s new Tutee Co-Directors for the 2026-2027 year!

Hey I’m Irene! I’m heading into my third year, double majoring in Human Biology and Molecular Genetics with a minor in Education and Society. I’ve been with the Saturday Program since my first year and absolutely love it! Right now, I’m on a mission to explore cuisines from all over the world, so if you ever want some food recommendations, let’s chat!

Hi everyone! My name is Ezgi, and I am a second-year MSc student in the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto. My research focuses on traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic epilepsy. Outside of school, I enjoy volunteering, going to new coffee shops, and reading fiction. I joined the Saturday Program because I wanted to help create a supportive environment where students can learn, connect with mentors, and explore their interests. Fun fact: I love opera! by @saturdayprogram.uoft

Meet the Saturday Program’s new Finance Director and Deputy for the 2026-2027 year!

Hi there!

I am Shayan, a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto studying Molecular Genetics and Neuroscience. Outside of classes, I am mainly involved in clinical research this year, with recent work at SickKids focused on pediatric celiac disease, social determinants of health, and how patient- and system-level factors shape clinical care. My community roles have also centered on accessibility, mentorship, and creating educational opportunities.

I first joined the Saturday Program as a tutor, and what drew me in was the simple but powerful idea that consistently showing up for a student can change the way they see themselves and their potential. This year, as Finance and Sponsorship Director, I am excited to support the program on a larger scale by helping with budgeting, sponsorship outreach, funding strategy, and long-term sustainability.

When I am not studying, doing research, or working on student leadership commitments, I enjoy cooking, reading novels, and spending time with friends over good food and conversation. I am genuinely grateful to be part of the Saturday Program team for a third year, and I am looking forward to helping connect our mission with people and organizations who can support the students we serve. Please feel free to reach out if there is anything I can help with, whether it is related to the program or something you think I might be useful for.

Hello, my name is Bri, I am the Financial Deputy and a student of Psychology and Public Health going into my third year. This year, I will be acting as the program’s Financial Deputy. My interest in connecting with people and supporting the well-being of others is what inspired me to join the Saturday Program last year. Outside of the program, you can probably catch me at the climbing gym or brainstorming my next crochet project. by @saturdayprogram.uoft

Meet the Saturday Program’s new Tutor Co-Directors for the 2026-2027 year!

Hi everyone! My name is Sophia, and I’m a recent graduate from the Psychology Research Specialist and English minor programs at the University of Toronto. I’m excited to be returning this year as one of the Directors of Tutoring for the Saturday Program. Being a part of the Saturday Program is incredibly important to me because I’m passionate about reducing educational inequality in my community, and I believe this program is one of the most meaningful ways I can make a positive impact.

Outside of school and research, I’m extremely interested in film, television, and literature, and I spend a lot of my free time reading on my iPad or watching new movies!

I’m looking forward to working with our amazing volunteers and students, and am so excited to get the program up and running for another great year!

I’m Ella and I’m a fourth-year student at UofT and I am returning to Saturday Program for the 3rd year in a row. Saturday Program is a club I always look forward to being apart of because of the people and the amazing positivity we can spread. A fun fact about me is I’m a bikeaholic and love to bike everywhere, even just to save an extra 5 minutes! by @saturdayprogram.uoft
