This month’s Satvic Journal- cold brew tea.🥤

Cold brew tea is one of the simplest rituals you can add to your summer, and one of the most underrated. You steep your loose leaf tea in cold or room temperature water for 2 to 4 hours or overnight, and what you get is a naturally smooth, soft, sweeter brew.
No artificial flavouring needed. No added sugar to mask harshness. Just the plant, the water, and time.
It works beautifully with herbal teas- hibiscus cold brews into a deep ruby, tart and floral. Tulsi becomes gentle and aromatic. Butterfly pea turns midnight blue. 💙

Most tea bags don’t actually contain tea.
They contain what the industry calls “fannings” and “dust”, the broken leftover fragments after quality loose leaf has been sorted and sold.

Also, most commercial tea bags are made from bleached paper or nylon mesh. When you pour boiling water over them, you’re not just steeping herbs, you’re steeping the bag too.
Then there’s what gets added- artificial flavouring, preservatives, added sugar hiding inside blends that call themselves “wellness.”
