I transformed under ten dollars of supplies into seven custom planters for my dollhouse 💁🏼‍♀️

I found the 1:12 garden urns on Temu, they just needed a zhuzh! I mixed baking soda with grey acrylic paint and applied it to look like stone when dried. I added some ageing and moss by dry brushing brown and green delicately, then filled the urns with a ball of PlayDoh and secured my plants with toothpicks. The tiny succulents and moss came from Dollarama and the “vines” are bits of shredded green yarn and threads.

I loved making these little planters and can’t wait to add them to my landscaping! 🪴

I think I hesitated to share the final photo dump of the Arizona house, but it’s really in the past now… Taylor has a song for anything because it was just a moment in time 🌅 I loved this kitchen, my refurbished appliances were my best deals ever, cooking on Viking was a dream! This house was so bright and sunny and happy it was impossible to feel down when we visited there. I heard the new owners are pulling out the new opening wall we installed last year and taking the dining room out to add more space to the backyard and it kind of gutted me 😥 I know it’s their house now but who buys a recently renovated property and removes square footage when the yard was already beautiful with a mountain view… which you could see through the new opening wall that’s kind of why we installed it 😭 anyway it’s not ours anymore so I’ve been working through letting go because I poured my heart and soul into that place and now I can only visit the posts I’ve left on Instagram. Clearly I have some issues! Goodbye, Terravita 🌵 you really did slip away like a bottle of wine 🫶🏼 by @saucydragonfly

I did reorganize and purge in May, I promise 🫶🏼 a full summer of creative projects, downsizing the Arizona home, and redecorating the bedrooms has left this space in tumult but at least some beautiful things have been made ✨

*Mouse Theatre* with the viral @hobbylobby shelf - thank you @girlsglitterngiggles for fetching for me! @petitmanor made hers and I just needed to do one for us!

I still have one more to “make” so I will film a proper tutorial with measurements but this was a fun, easy evening project. The shelf has hangers built into the back so this is the perfect display for @squidneyjean to stage her meeces year round 🐭 These two girlies came from @lovesoulpaper and I embellished them with little Temu beverages and some broken earrings as brooches. We prefer felted mice to Maileg but I know people are creating theatres for their Danish critters!

Drop me a question if you want any information how to create this trending mouse theatre for yourself ✨ 🐭 🎭

A little Starbies gift tray ☕️ Got an extra venti cup to hold the flowers, chose some cute green and white goodies to add 💚🤍 @starbuckscanada @katespadeny 🌿 🕯️ Happy Weekend 🫶🏼 by @saucydragonfly

I’ve not got a green thumb but I managed to impress myself with the succulent arrangement I made for my future son-in-laws birthday this week. Plants from @gardenarchitecture and they sent me with some helpful planting tips 🌱 so hopefully this doesn’t die simply because I looked its way 🤣 by @saucydragonfly

Before I clear the MLS photos off my phone I’m leaving them as a set of carousels - I don’t want to forget what our little slice of Scottsdale looked like, especially after the redesign and renovation (from hell). Most of the furniture and accessories came from Goodwill, thrift or discount stores:

I painted the walls of the open concept living room navy even though they read royal blue here. I’ll never regret it. The agent wanted us to repaint but the new buyer loved the navy and has lots of blue decor.

The furniture in this room is all from the World Market annual sale back in 2013 when we landed in AZ and that little white Jonathan Adler side table I picked up at a consignment store for sixty dollars… that was a great day!

Brass console table from Goodwill, etagere shelves from the Wayfair outlet in Chandler. All the Kate Spade lamps and accessories collected from HomeGoods and Marshall’s!

The Ferris Bueller poster was my birthday gift from Veto in 2024.

Currently this print is on my dining room table, we’ve yet to hang it here but I just couldn’t part with it - although everyone asked if it was for sale when we sold the bulk of the furniture 🫠

Bar cart and accessories from the anthropologie outlet at Mesa, the “print” was a framed piece of Rifle Paper gift wrap from Paper Source 🌸

Books books and more books - yes I read them! Ginger jars from Goodwill (crack turned to the wall 🤣) disco ball from the 99 cent store RIP 🪦 I shed a tear when they closed up forever

Green cabinet (Craigslist) I painted it with Dunn-Edward’s paint, it held my cake decorating supplies. Kept the original hardware. It was so incredibly well made and went to a buyer on marketplace who loved the green and plans to keep her Kate Spade books on it 💚🩷

Dining room table and chairs: Marble bistro table from Williams Sonoma. It was the floor model from the Fashion Square location when they closed out. We got it for a steal on the last day! It’s got some wear and tear on the marble but I like to call that “patina” - we did love this set so much we trucked it home to Canada.

Goodbye to our little sanctuary off the Carefree Highway at Terravita 🌵 It was a wonderful season of our lives, thirteen happy years spending winter in the Arizona sunshine. New adventures await but Arizona isn’t done with us yet - too many good friends remain 🫶🏼 but for now the Terravita chapter has closed. We will miss the sunsets from this yard and hot tub and the views of the mountain. by @saucydragonfly

Peony Syrup is a delicate, floral sugar drizzle that you can add to iced tea, lemonade or champagne 🥂 for a little splash of flowery goodness 🌸

Gather and clean four cups of peony petals.

Pour four cups boiling water over petals and cover. Steep overnight in refrigerator.

Strain the tea into a stock pot with cheesecloth or a very fine sieve. Bring to a boil with four cups of sugar (making a simple syrup).

At boil, reduce heat and add the juice of one fresh lemon. The acid of the lemon will react and turn the brownish tea a brilliant shade of pink right before your eyes!

This year I only made one batch that yielded six small bottles. I added @sweetapolita edible drink glitter in Rose Gold ✨🌸 and I’m kicking myself I didn’t think to add it last year!

Peony syrup lasts 30 days, store in the fridge.

* Save this recipe for people season next year 🌸 this is a celebration staple in our house every summer! Our peonies are notoriously late in this area and I am notoriously late to share this.

I am well. Members of the family are still in a recovery phase from some illness, and I am being a carer for my grandchildren and juggling some life changes as my husband entered retirement. I will resume regular baking orders in the fall. Thanks for your patience 🫶🏼 by @saucydragonfly

I scored this dreamy (unfinished) dollhouse on marketplace in November and spent most of my spare time since January wondering how the original owner planned to finish it. I decided to use @marthastewart48 ‘s iconic Turkey Hill farmhouse as inspiration and spent the last three months wiring little lights, fitting little bits of hardwood and painting. I’m proud of the new skills I earned this winter, especially tiny wiring and electrical stuff!

The house is as completed as it will be for the foreseeable future but I will also keep myself busy with planning and working on interior pieces to add to her when we are together again! 🩷 🏠
