Tonite I'm back at Mkalles warehouse, my absolute fav dancefloor in the world, for the newest edition of Grime & Punishment - a night dedicated to all things bassy, broken and LOUD.I realized I never posted videos from the last time I played at the #frequentdefect HQ. The G&P XX last June was easily one of the wildest raves I've ever been a part of - a 17 hour dance mania which none of us will ever forget. Playing alongside local legends like my lil sis @renataxvi , beastly dj @edwindaoo and the best closer around @juniorsfeir I was bursting with inspiration this wonderful city gave me. Many frenz were present, crowd ready to git down, so the proverbial c⚡h⚡a⚡n⚡n⚡e⚡l was open wideee throughout the night.Ready to deliver again tonite! A few impressions from @niansa___ a couple of weeks back - still floating in its afterglow. Being submerged in the dark green of this magickal & whimsickal festival was truly something else, so much so that we've already made it our future yearly pilgrimage. Feeling lucky to be able to play at a nice number of quality DIY festivals this summer. Gatherings like these become even more precious in current times, with all the Sonars and Boiler Rooms of the world operating under control of genocidal capital. So do support your local festival, explore adventurous music, visit beautiful locations, meet cool people. This is exactly what NIANSA was about - the curation was impeccable, vibes extremely chill, decorations & lighting beautiful, location otherworldly - it felt so easy to dive into the vibe and less so to leave it behind. Big up @sas_pckv and @rahneursa_uki and the kru ❤️‍🔥 we'll keep coming back.I was prepping glistening psilocybin ambient for weeks, only to realize 3 days before the festival that I'm not playing early morning as I thought! But then the legend of whimsy @icketa simply told me to play 'music to trip to' 🍄 this unlocked a spew of ideas playing which was super flowy with the help of a thick hash spliff (Bless my frenz!) 3/3 international guests hosted by EXC festival at @excentrale_bologna , organised by @gleba2000 , @mentalita__ and @bassigradassi .ENG@saud.sutra colors the vitalist legacy of hardcore continuum’s breakbeat patterns with contemporary, iridescent gradients to craft a renewed expression of rhythmic psychedelia. He is the co-founder of Belgrade’s future-oriented rave platform SUTRA (@sutra.club ) that has brought artists such as Gabber Modus Operandi, Aïsha Devi, DJ Travella, ZULI, Slikback, Batu, ABADIR, Aya, Nazar, Ehua, Lee Gamble, Ploy, Aquarian, Assyouti, Piezo and many others.Since before the pandemic, SAUD has positioned himself as Belgrade’s foremost fwd-thinking dj, working within multicolor hypersonics laid across divergent rhythms and tempi, never losing the grip on dynamics and physicality. Besides running SUTRA, he is a regular at @nyegenyegefest and has played in 20+ countries across 4 continents including NYC, Beirut, Istanbul, Cairo and all over the EU and Balkans.
