People say careless things about pregnant bodies. I’m due in a month. Today I walked up 65 stairs, 5 times. I still take Remi (3y5m) swimming 1–3 times a week. I still roll around at gymnastics. I started a local parent community. John and I laugh a lot. I still show up, every day, trying to spark a little wonder in the world around me.

And yet, this week a friend looked at this first photo of me and said out loud, “Some people just shouldn’t have babies.” Wait, “WHAT?” “Yeah, some people just shouldn’t have babies.”

Ordinarily, I’d tell them to f*** off. But. I’m. Pregnant. And that was the single most hurtful thing anyone has said to me during a pregnancy FILLED 😥 with ignorant comments about my body.

Truthfully, it has been a bumpy ride. This pregnancy has come with insulin + exhaustion slammed gestational diabetes, a tick bite, food poisoning, family covid, John’s surgery, Remi getting sick, medical providers who should really question why they’re working in healthcare, the red flag bonanza for ppl my age, etc etc etc.

And still. I feel deep positivity. Not all the time. But most of it.
 I’m proud that amidst the chaos, I’ve found ways to make daily life joyful for my loves and our people.

SO. If you ever see a pregnant person who looks different or surprising to you, keep your mouth freaking shut and just say “You look adorable.” taken in Beacon, New York by @sauerhour

Way back in 2019, I launched a little idea, called Ohnut ✨ on Kickstarter, hoping to revolutionize how we approach pain during sex, and to bridge the gap between patients and accessible care. Little did I know, Mayo Clinic and Harvard’s cancer research center would reach out to me soon there after to offer Ohnut to their patients. Four years later, dozens of conferences, thousands of clinicians, 50,000+ Ohnut’s later (plus launching the Pain Perception Project, Pelvic Gym, and completing an IRB approved study with two more IRB approvals on the way!!) we have officially rebranded as The Pelvic People. AND! AND AND!! Sometimes we run circles to stop his cries,
Sometimes we get out when it’s sunny,
Sometimes we have nothing to say to his milk-drunk eyes,
But newborn farts are always funny 🙉
