The cutest and happiest Sauna85 team ran 21.1K yesterday. How lucky we are to be able to move our bodies, cheer for our friends and stand next to each other. Seeing familiar faces while running means so much, and supporting our friends means just as much.

@egekildedanmark gave us the opportunity to race, and so we did. LFG, team. What a great day 🥰

Now we’ll head back to the sauna, ready to host top-tier recovery for all runners, and for everyone who didn’t run too 💯

Meet Johan 🏺

Artist, ceramicist, photographer and gusmester at Sauna85.

For Johan, the sauna is a place to be fully present and switch off from everything outside. He loves the contrast between heat and cold, and builds his sessions around music, scent and atmosphere.

If you join one of his sessions, you’ll notice the calm he brings to the room. You might also notice his nerdy, artistic approach to the music he plays.

A small disclaimer: Johan’s gus is one of the hotter ones 🔥

He’s also celebrating his one-year anniversary as a gusmester. Happy anniversary, Johaaaaan <3

When he’s not in the sauna, he studies at The Royal Danish Academy.

Pics from out little get-together at our new Sauna85 office space 🌼 Handing out the Race Day fits for the team

For the past two months, a team of our gusmesters has been training up together. Done the kilometres, the long runs and the recovery gus, with a fair amount of Garmin stats, pacing strategies and injury talk along the way.

Now, 21.1 km is getting close.

The legs are ready. More or less. And we’re in it together.

Business has its ups and downs. Like when we’re about to lose a location, without having the next one lined up..

Sometimes we look at each other and think: Look what we’ve built. Not so much in terms of money, but in terms of cOmMuNiTy and creating a breathing space for a lot of people.
Other times, it’s more like: WTF have we done?

So, we need your help finding our next home.
Ideally:
👉🏻 By the water, with access to a bathing zone 👉🏻 A real and available opportunity 👉🏻 A specific contact who can help move the conversation forward

We love ideas, but right now we need concrete leads, not suggestions for general areas.

Finders Fee: 10,000 DKK if your lead becomes our new location.💸

Looking back at all the places Sauna85 has called home feels almost surreal.

We started in 2023 with no idea how much moving around would become part of the journey. But we’ve had some absolute gems along the way.

Bådhavnsgade. A slightly longer bike ride from home, but unmatched in authenticity.

Kayak Bar. Views across the inner city, yet somehow completely peaceful in winter.

Alva Myrdals Plads. Raw winter days, a wood-fired sauna and the calm canal. Sometimes it felt like we were the only people left in the world.

Anløbet. For some reason, the sun was always shining at Anløbet.
And so many more.

All we really want is to deliver hot saunagus™️ and give people access to a cold plunge. Preferably straight into the ocean.

Roskilde Festival 2026, it’s a wrap. 🧡

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our little sauna🌺

For the sweat. The cold. The chats. The reset. The music. The “I’m just coming for one session” … & then showing up again the next day.

2nd year bringing free saunagus™️ to the volunteers, and somehow it’s become one of our favourite weeks of the year.💯

Hey.

@egekildedanmark is supporting all our saunagus sessions at Rentemestervej until June 21st.
